lethe | 16359 comments We need official publishers' pages. These aren't publishers' sites. The first one even says "officieuze strippagina".

lethe | 16359 comments And what I'm saying is that individual publishers' pages can certainly be added to the list, but the sites you link to are not allowed as sources.

For changes to the manual you would be better to contact support AT goodreads DOT com

Renske | 12220 comments I'm not sure if adding all those publishers is the best thing to do with that list. It was created when we had several years ago a major change in sources we could use. As you can see, there are only a few countries on that list and for some only their national library is listed. For Dutch and Italian books, several publishers are listed, as some users provided that data back then.
Publisher websites are already named as accepted sources and it is not realistic to keep a list of all publishers for each language/country, so my suggestion would be to limit the list to national libraries and other major sources only, as a quick reference.

lethe | 16359 comments I agree with Renske that the list in the manual cannot be exhaustive, but Mansuhr also has a point when they say that publishers' sites may be hard to find.

It would be nice if the info could be stored somewhere so people would know where to find it. I believe the librarians working in the Awards folder use GoogleDocs for that.

Why would it be? They are neither the authors nor the publishers; they do not own the rights to the information.
