Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Has anyone else been suffering from a reading slump? I've been trying to read Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) by Sarah J. Maas for over a month now and I just can't seem to focus on the story. Usually if I read a shorter, lighter novella I can usually read a longer novel, but that hasn't worked this time.

How do you guys combat reading slumps?

I usually go back to one of my favourite books for a bit of a re-read. Sometimes I don't even need to read more than a couple of chapters and it gives me faith that good books are out there. Have to say that I struggled with Crown of Midnight too, which was a real shame considering that I loved Throne of Glass.

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments I feel the same way! The first book was so good, but I don't know...Crown of Midnight is kind of disappointing so far. The images just aren't holding my attention anymore, and I feel like I have to force myself to stay focused. Was the rest of the series like that?

I'll definitely have to try reading one of my favorite books and see if that helps!

I gave up after book 3, I've heard that book 4 is an improvement but I haven't brought myself to try it yet!

Good luck! Reading slumps suck!
