You know what they say about opinions, Alex.
Let's not forget that these threads were created for our mutual problems with independent publishing. I think we should stick to the topic of gripes we have on that topic, rather than any other issues.
This is truly not the forum to express personal views about anything other than writing.

This forum has skewed into territory on more than one occasion that has nothing to do with writing. If you have personal things you want to discuss please do it via the private message feature on Goodreads. I'll be closing this thread and opening a new one that stays on topic. Post your gripes on writing and publishing topics only. Thank you

So far today I have encountered people bitching about movies including white..."
The biggest movie audience is actually the Asian market.
And I don’t think that any movie needs a white character to be succesful. Ever. If it’s a good movie it will do well, as Black Panther has shown as it nears $1.3 billion gross worldwide.
People of color are vastly underrepresented in movies. It blows if the few roles that can go to POC go to whites because of a myth that only movies featuring whites do well. And if people don’t make noise about it, POC will have to continue to settle for secondary, useless characters. That’s not fair. (And it doesn’t make business sense. We have money too.)
I don’t care about the tampon thing.
