I can do it, but I would like a break, like you. I've managed 18 chapters of one and 12 chapters of the other since September. They'll be short books of around 40k each, but even so that's about 63k so far.

I am having a moan being a writer at a crafts market is the most narcissistic endeavour ever.I live in Queenstown New Zealand tourist town.
I did not sell 1 of my 4 books yesterday.
One guy took a card and said can I download it for free.
People pay 40 dollars for cushion covers prints necklaces but not I repeat not 20 dollars for a book.
Good publicity for Kindle though.
Alex yes I am sorry to say my mother started running away I am sorry. She got scared of smoke alarms.
I do not know you very well but if you cannot care in NZ it's free it becomes gradually worse.early stages is fine later on if I looked after my mother I would have a secure room.
sorry you jave my commisserations its a hard disease.
Please prepare yourself.
Bloody hell Mary that’s rough. I’ve had experience of selling things from a table sale at a craft thing. I vowed never again. I’m not sure I’d even try with books. But the cheek of “can I download it for free?” That annoys me. Early onset dementia or vascular dementia is possible after a stroke Alex. I’m sorry you’re having to go through that.
Sorry Alex to hear. It's my Dad's last Christmas at home. My mother has been doing her best to care for him but it's an increasingly big burden on her and theres no point in her ruining the rest of her life in caring for him. He wouldn't have wanted that.
But he'll be scared and disoriented in a home so it sucks.

Sorry to hear that, Alex. You and Mum are in my prayers.

Sorry to hear that, Alex. You and Mum are in my prayers.
I'm sorry to hear that, Alex. It's no fun watching a person who is important to us struggle in any way. It must be very comforting for her to know you are there looking out for her well-being, even if it adds to your challenges. I hope she continues to recover, slowly but surely.
Sorry to Alex and everyone going through some tough stuff this holiday season. I'm sending good thoughts and cheer your way.
I got all excited that Radish announced a Spacefarers collection. Both of my new works on Radish would qualify for that. But then I forgot (slaps forehead) I don't have a Wattpad following or 1.4k views so why on earth would they pick my books when they can pick books that are already popular?Meh
I know. It seems all downs at the moment. If I get a payment of £2.50 out of Medium next month I may throw a party. Clutching at straws...
Oh, New Zealand! I'd love to go there.Merry Christmas everyone.
I hope those who are hurting can find some relief this season.
I’ve seen similar things (not on my books). At least they aren’t 1* reviews for a hairdryer or something. That happens.
Hi AlexYou're the fifth writer of my acquaintance to whom this has happened. The others have politely advised Amazon, and after around a week or so, the incorrect reviews are taken down.
Alex wrote: "Thanks Chrys, I'll see about contacting Amazon then if that appears to be the best way to handling it."Alex, I'd call Author Central...they've always (!) been very helpful.
Best of Seasons to you and your family.
I should mention that several writers found that their sales went up during the time of the bogus reviews (!)
Chrys wrote: "I should mention that several writers found that their sales went up during the time of the bogus reviews (!)"It's true...there's no such thing as "bad" publicity LOL
My computer has been down for five weeks. I was just able to get back on the internet today and catch up with everyone. My computer is old and I can't afford another one. Six years to be exact and my charger stopped working. My computer battery was so low that life support couldn't save it. After two tries I finally found one that was actually compatible with my computer. Writing had come to a screeching halt as far as the computer goes. I hand wrote the entire five weeks to keep the muse from drying out. Hopefully I can finish my third and fourth books now that my computer is back to normal. I should be done with the third by this spring since I was mostly finish with it when my computer was down. I hope the new year brings good things to all of us!
Sorry to hear about the computer- I can sympathize. It's been going around. Our whole network went down and put us out of business for a week. It was horrible.

If I leave it unplugged for about 2 or 3 minutes, it shuts itself off. But I've always been able to get it running by plugging it in. Anyway, glad you're back in business.
Carmel wrote: "Nice to see you back, Angel. I love technology, until I have to hate it when it fails me :)"Hi, Carmel it's great to be seen. Yes, I have a love/hate relationship with technology too. And I'm the tech savvy one so what does that say?
Dale wrote: "Angel wrote: "My computer has been down for five weeks. I was just able to get back on the internet today and catch up with everyone. My computer is old and I can't afford another one. Six years to..."Thanks! Dale. I hope things are going well for you and your family.
Stephanie wrote: "Perseverance! Good for you, Angel!"Thank you! Stephanie. I just couldn't give up. I have so much more to do in this world and technology is part of it.
Carole wrote: "Sorry to hear about the computer- I can sympathize. It's been going around. Our whole network went down and put us out of business for a week. It was horrible."Good to hear from you Carole! I hope things stay up and running for you.
Angel wrote: "Thanks! Dale. I hope things are going well for you and your family."You're welcome, and thank you. It's up one day, down the next, but with luck it will smooth out in a month or so.
Feels like the sky is falling on authors. I just read in another author group that someone went to change the price on a book and amazon sneakily has a new rate set at 50% for books 2.99 and over. Some are saying they will reserve the 70% to those that are exclusive to Amazon, but no one is really sure. Not sure what else 2018 has in store for us authors this year, but we have to be ready for some serious and possibly even scarier changes to come soon. Grrrr

They already have countries all over the @#@$;damn world lowering corporate taxation rates, whyyy must they be so greedy?
I trust you but I hope this is not true!
And I still haven’t read the first book in the series. It’s the opinion of one person. It counts for just a bit more than nothing because one is a bit more than nothing. (Naturally if it was one glowing review it would be of the utmost importance because that’s the way I roll!) Besides, unless your book is an in-depth study of character I’d argue that pages and pages of character description are boring. But that’s just me. I’d rather read action than a psych eval. I am in a bitchy mood today!!
The founder of Amazon was named the richest person in the world, worth 90.6 billion. Bill Gates was a close second but from what I hear, he gave too much money to charity to rank first. Just an interesting fact...
Can you believe it? I've only just found this thread! I've got nothing to grrr about today but I've been reading some of your grrrs and my heart goes out to some of the situations you are coping with.I liked the grrr about the reviewer who thought your baddie wasn't bad enough. I had one GR reviewer who thought the baddie was the one she liked best. It sounded like she fancied him. Each to their own, I suppose. I'd written him to be a bit of a wally, lazy, etc. It left me feeling, not quite grrr but mystified. Needless to say I got a low star review for it.
