Is anyone interested in turning it into a list?

Alex | 2736 comments List created: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

I have added all the books from pages 1, 3 & 4 (except the nominee on page 4). Unfortunately, some sort of bug/caching issue has populated page 2 with duplicates. In my experience working with awards, these duplicates are covering actual entries for the award, which only appear on the individual book pages.

The long and hard way to ensure all entries are transferred is to delete the award entries individually for the books that are already in the list and add the rest as they pop up.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Or will someone help get through this the long way round? I can't do this alone; there are more books left than I have votes, so I won't go through this just to end up with the incomplete list anyway.

Anyway, please help! :)

Ayshe | 3084 comments Thank you (I didn't care much about the list/award itself, but I felt obliged to ask as advised and as another person(s) have spent time creating it).

The long and hard way looked not so long (after considering the second option and looking at project's site :) ) I deleted the individual entries and voted for the ones that weren't on the list.

Award deleted.

Alex | 2736 comments Ah, that was a much better solution. :)

Elizabeth (Alaska) Was there a reason this list was made static?

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Each year there will be adds to it, and the list even now is incomplete. Wouldn't it be better to provide the link in the description and request no additions be made?

Alex | 2736 comments Done. I didn't think about the future.

Thank you.

Elizabeth (Alaska) 2002 list has been added to the Listopia. I have room for more votes and will try to get to another year.

Alex | 2736 comments I've got 15 votes left for this list, so tell me where you stop and I'll pick up from there.

ETA: Hmm, I see some people have voted for some of the same books I have, so I can probably squeeze a few more out of there.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Good, Alex. I started at the earliest years, because I thought they were unlikely to be on the award list. I'm sure I can get all of 2003 tomorrow. If I start before 4 in the afternoon (!), then we'll see about 2004.

Elizabeth (Alaska) 2003 is done - I still have room in my 100 allotment. Can get most of 2004 done tomorrow before I give up.

Alex | 2736 comments Good job Elizabeth! :)
Let me know when to jump in!

Elizabeth (Alaska) Hi Alex - got my quota in on the list.

https://ameliabloomer.wordpress.com/2...

If you could do this book and all of the ones below it, we would have 2004 complete.

Khouri, Norma. Honor Lost: Love and Death in Modern-day Jordan. 2003. 209p. Atria Books, $24 (0-7434-4878-2). Gr. 10-12.

Thanks for your encouragement. Now, if we could just interest a few more librarians, this project would be complete!

Alex | 2736 comments Having removed all my non-unique votes, I got to (not including):

Carson, Mina, Tisa Lewis, Susan M. Shaw. Girls Rock! : Fifty Years of Women Making Music. Illus. 2004. 235p. The University Press of Kentucky, $29.95 (0-8131-2310-0). Gr. 9-12.

from the 2005 list. *holds out the baton*

Elizabeth (Alaska) Superb! Since you don't need to be a librarian for this project, I think I'll ask in a couple of my groups.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I found someone to help work on this - will report back when there is an update.

Elizabeth (Alaska) Thanks to my friend who added another 100, and working forward from 2002, we're at:

... 2008 Young Adult, so up to, but not including:

Brande, Robin. Evolution, Me, & Other Freaks of Nature. 2007. 268p. Alfred A. Knopf, $15.99 (978-0-375-84349-5). Gr. 8-12.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I have another volunteer! We may get this one done yet!
