Name that Tune/Book/Movie/ECT

I'll start with this song:
I'm packed a..."
I know this is an alternative rock song from the 90's but forgot the name.

To get me through this
A semi something kind of life
I remember that part of the song but I can't remember that one word

My freedom I hold dear
How years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air
'Twas in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up
And slipped away with her

After that my guess is that you will never hear from him again. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

You don't care for me
I don't care about that
Got a new fool, ha!
I like it like that
I have only one burning desire

I have only one burning desire

Usual Suspects

Well done, one of my favorites."
Mine too! I think I've seen it at least 30 times. Great cast too.

Have you seen Momento? Another great mind fuck movie from the same period.

I wanna say I saw that on the list of things coming to Netflix this month.

I love that line and use it all the time even if the movie IMO wasn't that good. They live.
Which reminds me of another cheesy 80's movie that I love a quote from:
"I've always wanted to fight a desperate battle against incredible odds."
This is pretty obscure so bonus if you know it and at the same time I'm sorry you're wasting brain cells like I am on useless shit like this.

The Last Starfighter. I watched it when I was reading Armada :)

Well done. Most Sci-fi from that era doesn't translate well because the effects were comical compared to today but that movie was comedy gold.

Not the one I was thinking of.

I can't place it but the other movie is another 80's movie. I kept thinking there was another but wasn't sure. I'll see if it comes to me but for some reason I picture it being delivered by Cory Feldman or another 80's teen actor.

Yes its another 80's sci-fi type, its definitely not a teen actor.

Watched Memento! It was great. Didn't realize it was directed by Christopher Nolan, he's brilliant.

one time a thing occurred to me
what's real, and what's for sale?
blew a kiss and tried to take it home

I was listening to it in the car the other day. I bought the album after the singer's OD, which is unfortunate. I like listening to the work he did with Slash in Velvet Revolver as well. Can you believe that was over two years ago now?

HINT#1:
"Hey has anyone seen my St. Anthony's medal? "
"Isn't he the patrons saint of lost things?"
"Yeah, I can't find it!"

"I know exactly what I'm going to do after the war..."
"Oh god, Virg, if I have to hear one more thing about that stupid restaurant..."
"Is not stupid! At least I've got a plan! What are you going to do after the war, Rascal?"
"Come to your restaurant, rob it!"

VR was really good as well. That is crazy that it's two years already.

I was thinking your movie Chris was Biloxi Blues and I was 75% sure I was right so I looked it up. Right genre and era but wrong movie. I'll give everybody that as hint three as I now know.

Yeah I know, time really flies. I still love cranking "Fall to Pieces" randomly! And Slash is by far my favorite guitarist!

Those quotes are way too benign for FMJ. :)"
I was thinking that..It's just reallly familiar...

It stars the likes of Sean Austin, Billy Zane, Tate Donovan, John Lithgow, and Harry Connick Jr.!

I totally had the wrong movie when I looked it up.

I'll start with this song:
I'm packed and I'm holding
I'm smiling, she's living, she's golden
She lives for me, says she lives for me
Ovation, her own motivation
