... gobsmacked and a little humbled! Thanks for the amazing review! Ehrm... (any chance you could add it to the US Amazon site as well?) :)
Cheers, Alistair.

Hi Adam, thanks for clearing that up. Of course, if you can get someone else to 'read' the book, agree with you and post to Amazon US, my conscience can cope. Thanks. :)

And as we seem to be giving each other kudos, let me reinforce what Adam said about Alistair Potter's book. I'm only a quarter done, but so far, it's been really fun and well paced. I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
Bruce

That's pretty funny, Adam. It means my plan is working!

I'm about halfway done. It's a win. I do not love the blurb, though. Hope I'm not over stepping here, but if it were me, I would want someone to tell me and that isn't something I would ever put in a review. I strongly recommend redoing your blurb. You could also take it over to the blurb section on Goodreads and get some opinions on it.

There's a 'blurbs' section!
Immediately I get a picture of a darkened room, and a trapdoor that opens every now and again for waste-baskets full of terrible 'blurb copy' to be thrown in. The poor troglodytic creatures manning their ancient typewriters will only get fed if they edit the text and send out good copy. (Which they load onto a bucket that gets lowered down to them!) I've obviously been reading too much Thursday Next by Jasper Fforde.
Where's the blurb section?
Alistair.

LOL - Your visual isn't far off. I hate writing blurbs. And I know a good one when I see one or a bad one for that matter, but I struggle to determine what makes it good or bad. They are the worst! But even knowing how hard they are to write well, they are key when deciding whether or not I will read a book.
So anyhow, in the group called Support for Indie Authors, there is a discussion group called Blurbs/Covers/Trailers. You can post your blurb or cover there and folks will chew it up and spit on it for you free of charge. It's the best. We just ask that you return the favor. Here is a link, but if you have not joined the Support for Indie Authors Group, it may not work.

You're not overstepping in my opinion - any feedback given in the spirit of helping is entirely welcome!
I've posted the blurb in the appropriate Support for Indie Authors section (funny I never thought of getting a blurb reviewed - just covers and the MS of course). You have me really curious, so if you have a moment and want to PM me with a couple of your thoughts on the blurb, please do.

I believe that completes my obligations to this group. It's been fun, with a couple of good books to read and some helpful feedback. Happy writing, BmP
Good review Melonie. Thank you for your links, I do believe your commitment to this review round is done. I hope to see you in another round soon =)

Nicely done, Bruce!"
Melonie,
Thanks for the kind words and the thoughtful review. Happy writing, BmP
For those of you who haven't completed your 1st round reviews, you have to days left to post =). Thank you in advance, and happy reading.

I can't find Final Choice on Amazon (despite being able to locate another work by the author) so I haven't been able to post reviews there. I'm happy to if/when it's published on Amazon.

Here's my review of Rejena's "Final choice"

Rejena, are you able to inform me of whether you are still participating in this round, as I have not seen any links posted for the last round. Thanks in advance for your reply =).

I was having a little 'scoot' round my reviews - I was wondering if you posted to Amazon.com for Box of Tricks?
Every little helps... :)
Thanks, Alistair.

You can 'search' on Amazon.com or if you follow the US Amazon link from my listing of the book on my website;
http://alipotter.co.uk/novels.html
You can click the review link on the Amazon.com page and you'll get to the review interface - very slightly different from the UK 'dialogue' - you need to click some options before it opens the box for leaving a review. If you can manage, that would be great.
Cheers, Alistair.

Mercy buckets!
Alistair.

Thanks Ben. I'm glad you liked it. I read the review but the star rating hasn't come through yet. Has anyone else noticed a time lag on Goodreads?

Apologies in the delay in closing this round down. It would appear that Rejena had pulled out of the round. People who reviewed her book need to un-review it forthwith...thank you!
