So What (Was I doing again?)
On the official New Orleans website, they have a special section dedicated to common natural disasters in the city and what to do should one occur. Most of them were normal, like flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, mosquitoes, heat, thunderstorms, etc. But the one that really stood out to me was....it told you what to do in case the city told you you couldn't drink tap water. I told Mom that and she confirmed a lot of times the water isn't filtered very well or not at all, hence why they have to put up a lot of warnings like that.
Oh it's nice that they put that in there too. I remember when I lived on Long Island and during subsequent visits, there would always be a lot of iron in the water that's best not to drink.
Indeed. Mom says New Orleans has a really sucky sewage and water system that hasn't been worked on since the 1930's or something.

It was a great movie, but it was....the most upsetting thing I've ever watched. And I've seen Marley and Me.
I imagine it's more upsetting. When I see and hear thing involving the Holocaust, I get quiet but that's about it. I hardly react in anyway. I don't get emotional or upset or terrified or angry or anything, so I wonder how i'll act if i ever saw the movie.
I wouldn't say that I get very emotional about movies like this either. At least, not like this. I guess it's hard for me to explain, but it's a difficult movie. Great, and doesn't make light of these things at all. I loved it, honestly. It was just the end that really got me.

Hey Elizabeth I have to wonder: How would you compare books and movies about the Holocaust to Between Shades of Grey? For them to qualify they have to be either mostly or solely about the Holocaust, not the war.
I watched it up until the woman said something like "THere's a baby in here" then I was forced out of the room, along with my brother My mom said the movie was really sad and it took me about .5 seconds to figure out why.

Germany was eventually kicked out of nations like Poland and France. Russia owned the Baltics until 1991, comitting all kinds of atrocities in the meantime. And while countries are still best friends with Germany, the Baltics hate Russia with a passion for what was done to them.
Not to mention, everyone remembers the Holocaust and what happened. The people who did that are dead or were imprisoned and executed for crimes. Hardly ANYBODY knows about what Russia did to the Baltics, and as a result, those soldiers were never arrested and executed.
And I think that is way more tragic and far more disturbing.
Understandable. I had more meant the conditions of the different camps and what happened to the prisoners, but I know what you mean. All of our SOL content conveniently glosses over the Soviet's crimes...it's only when we diverge from the discussion to we even mention what happened there.
I think both were equally bad, but in the Soviet Union you had to deal with the extreme cold as their camps were all in Siberia. And they would do stuff like mix live bugs into your gruel, and if you refused to eat it, they'd hold you down and force it down your throat.
LovelyDId the Soviet camps just hold people and have them die off, or were there camps/parts of camps designed specifically for executing prisoners.
Sorry i hijacked your journal, dear >.<
It depended on what your crime was. A lot of political prisoners were often executed after several months, usually by firing squad. Other people usually ended up dying after several months on their own, usually because they got extremely sick from the conditions; they died from hypothermia, or they just committed suicide.
I had meant like were parts of the camps built to kill, like the gas chambers in concentration camps. Or were those executed ((as far as we know)) just killed by firing squad.
I don't think there were specific areas, no. If they killed someone in a specific way, they often took them away in the dead of night and killed them away from the rest of the camp.
I just watched a video that was like 42 things wrong with Diabolik Lovers, and all of them were problems they found with Yui lol

Plus she's scared of thunderstorms.
They were talking specifically anime, I think lol I would totally make her a jerk if I were playing XD It would just be so fun, I think.
Just be careful since some of the guys don't like it when you're a jerk and being like that lowers their affection bar.
Ayato: "You're not used to thunderstorms like these, are you?" Yui: "Well back home, we had thunderstorms, but not...as bad as this one is,"
*a really loud crash of thunder sounds and she tightly hugs Ayato*
Ayato: "Are you scared of thunderstorms or something?"
Yui: "Yeah...." hugs him more*

We didn't stop, but my sister turned around and it looked like it was standing on the side with it's leg just pulled up.

Actually Ayato's probably shocked me the most lol He's supposed to be a typical teenage boy, but his voice just seems so mature to me I don't know lol
