Well when I was younger, the glue on the toilet paper tubes was really weak. One day, I dropped one and the tube started to come out so I curiously pulled it out all the way and put it on the holder without the tube inside. I thought it was brilliant because mom always complained about how people left the tube instead of changing out for a new roll and there wasn't one left if I threw it out before putting it on. So I did this for a while but apparently my mother couldn't stand it. She incessantly questioned us to figure out who was doing it and I didn't say a thing. For some reason, my mother suspected my middle sister for it and I went along. And even one day she asked how she was doing it and I literally showed her but she never figured out it was me. To top it all off, my mother found a stash of tp tubes in my sister's bedroom! Apparently she'd been taking them from the trash to make crafts with them, but the shocking thing was that she actually thought she was the culprit. I teased her about it, like "why do you keep doing it? gosh!" and she believed me!
Ultimately, I stopped (mostly because the glue started getting stronger and popping them out ripped the stuff inside) but it had been timed perfectly with my mother giving my sister a talk about not doing it. Since my sister didn't get in trouble and I knew that I would if I confessed, I said nothing.

Fast forward to like, two years ago, I confessed to my sister that I did it and she was shocked but we laugh about it all the time. Tonight we were laughing about it and ended up telling my mom too, who was shocked but tired enough to crack up about it. And I still didn't get in trouble so woo haha
