MERMAID💧 Caly is able to boil or chill water, instantly with only a touch.
Along with that, she is able to purify water, or even just clean
salt water, depending on the needs. When she decides, the
water will flow through her body, and she will change it then.
💧 Because she is a mermaid, Calyssa's legs morph into a fish-like
tail whenever she is in water, and often must be. Since she has
that tail, she is a very powerful swimmer, able to propel herself
quite far with one swish of her tail.
💧 Calyssa finds it quite easy to camouflage herself underwater,
into reefs and just the sea floor. Her clan of merpeople are gifted
with this ability to blend in, and her royal blood allows her to do
this with unimaginable speed and ease.
💧 Along with her other water-related gifts, Calyssa also has a
certain control over the water itself, able to shape and move it at
will into any form she wants. She can even form waves in the
ocean, if she so wishes.
💧 Of course, one of Calyssa's many skills is her voice...or more
specifically, her siren song. She can sing a hypnotic tune in order
to lure sailors to their death, but many speculate that there's
much more to it. Some have even said that those who hear her
voice and survive will know their true desires. Luckily, she has
also mastered the ability to sing in a way to avoid this.


Calyssa has a very relaxed appearance. Her long, blonde and wavy hair is always down, falling around her shoulders or tossed to one side, depending on her mood or what she's doing. Her eyes are a clear blue, much like clean river water on a nice day, but their color shifts to a poisonous purple when using her magic while angry, or while she is singing her siren song. She loves loose and flowing clothes, so that she feels more free, and she always wears a bathing suit under her clothes so she is ready to swim whenever needed.


   


Calyssa always goes with the flow and doesn't like to stress about anything. After all, stress makes oysters die. She loves fun at any time, especially if she's upset, and it's rare for her ever to just need time to sit down and be calm a moment. However, this probably isn't the best psychological practice. It's just how she's always lived, and how she's always had to live. With as many sisters as she had, there was never any time for her emotions, or her feelings. For some reason, it's never really bothered her. Possibly because she never knew any other way. But for now, that's just how she is. She's well accustomed and overall good at listening to other people and comforting them.


  


Deep in the sea, the great Teuthos rules. Their civilization was run by it, with only a few kings to carry out its wishes. Calyssa's father was one of them, which unfortunately put her under Teuthos's gaze. He told her that she had to marry one of his greatest shark soldiers, a merman who had the tail and all the skills and senses of a great white shark. Unfortunately, they also had the rows of teeth which most mermaids found attractive but Calyssa did not. Not to mention that this same soldier lacked all the brains of...well anything. She complained to her father, who simply told her that it was because Teuthos told them it must be and therefore it would. However, Caly wasn't happy with that answer, and started to consistently ask her father why this and why that, ultimately leading to the point that she was doubting why they listened to Teuthos at all. As soon as Teuthos found out she was doubting it, it sent soldiers after her. In a rare moment of actually thinking, the man to whom she was betrothed came and warned her, giving her just enough time to start swimming away. She's not sure how it happened, but somehow Caly swam through a portal and all of a sudden found herself on dry land, flopping about because she wasn't ready for the amount of oxygen suddenly. But she coped and soon found herself in the school's main office getting registered to attend the Universe School. After being assured that the ocean here had no connection to that of her father or Overlord Teuthos, Caly found herself spending more and more time at the beach. She loves surfing on a board, but if she gets wet it's all over and she'll have to wait until she dries out again.

It's ironic because the personification for the Baltic Sea is a mermaid who lives under the waves in an amber palace. Amber because amber pieces often wash up on the shores.
