I don't know years, but it's the current queen, back before her father died.
So maybe they hadn't figured it out yet? I mean for years tobacco companies denied a connection between smoking and lung cancer and tried to hide evidence.
That's not the point. I know they didn't know the correlation, but it's blatantly obvious. The more he coughs, the more he smokes, the more he declines. The bloody idiot.

The Crown is set in the 40's-50's I think? And besides the point, for a long time they actually thought smoking was healthy for you.
I never knew they thought it was healthy. Just that they didn't think it was *bad*
Oh they did. They thought lots of weird stuff back then(Victorian era) like root beer was a blood-cleanser and made your stomach feel better after vomiting.

It's not that bad of a story, I just hate how she ended up with the guy who treated her like garbage for literally no reason. You wanna hear me rant for hours on end about an annoying ship oh boy....

We would get points taken off for not using Times New Roman 12 in school.
My school never did that.
My high school and *maybe* middle school did. IDR.
Neither did. I think one time in ninth grade we were told to make our reports look like that, but it was only a suggestion to make it look neater and not a requirement.
I just love that my father has to analyze every single freaking movie we're watching. Like, can't we just enjoy one movie without him stopping it to talk and complain? I'm sorry you don't get it, but really, thank you for yelling at it and ruining it for the rest of us.
My mom's friend does that and it annoys her to no end.
