Hello! A lot of you have submitted your books to be included on our new website, www.navigatingindieworld.com. Thank you for that!

For those that are still a bit confused about the website and it's purpose, let me walk you through it. Navigating Indieworld is a non-profit site developed to help indies promote their books to the general public. It was put together on a whim, after a couple of us started to discuss the rise of collaborative marketing efforts in the indie community. Chances are you've participated in a couple of these events in the past.

However, we wanted to create a home base that allows for a more permanent collaborative marketing effort.
What does this entail?
Well, it's pretty simple.

1. You submit a maximum of two of your books to our website via this thread.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

2. We will then create a webpage for your book.
It will look like this:
http://navigatingindieworld.com/book/...

As you can see, we will present our visitors with a nice, clean page that includes the blurb to your book, the cover and a link to amazon.com (We will soon add the prices as well.)

3. In addition to the book page, every author gets an author page.
It will look like this:
http://navigatingindieworld.com/autho...
And can be reached via the INDIE AUTHORS DIRECTORY or your individual bookpage(s). The author page will contain your picture, your bio, links to your websites and social media and links to the books featured on NavigatingIndieworld.com.

The information presented on the author page will be lifted from your author page on Amazon.com. If you want us to change anything, use the contact form on navigatingindieworld.com to reach us. (You can find it in the footer.)

4. We will organize a BIG group event a couple of times a year in order to promote all the books featured on our website. The first one that we're organizing will consist of us enticing readers to buy our books by promoting the heck out of it and offering readers the opportunity to win big prizes. Readers can "earn" entries by posting about our event online and of course, buying the books listed on the website. We will ask for your feedback and opinions every step of the way. In the end, after taking said feedback into account, we will provide you with promotion material, like the one below.
http://navigatingindieworld.com/wp-co...
We would then ask you to share the promo material on all your social media accounts and with all your friends.

5. We're working hard on finishing the website and making it look amazing and accessible. Instead of grouping ALL the different types of books together, we've opted to split them in different categories. That way it's easy for consumers to find the books they want to read without having to browse through dozens of books. HOWEVER, we've also made sure to give each genre a cool, eye catching IMAGE so that maybe someone looking to buy a romance novel might be tempted to check out the books labelled as fantasy as well.

You can check out the HOME/FRONTPAGE of the event/permanent library here:
http://navigatingindieworld.com/portf...
Make sure to click on the images and check out the books that have already been added!

(Please note that the text used on that page is not final since we're still debating the name of the first event. It is planned for the end of March.)

We want to turn this website into a cool resource for indie authors as well, and will therefore post interesting articles on the blog that you can read and comment on.
We urge you to submit articles and be an active participant.
After all, a popular website benefits us all.

Please only use this thread for question. We have a discussion thread regarding NI.com for informal, fun talk. :)

Aislinn The website looks amazing!

I have an idea for the website - it might not work, though. Do you want suggestions, or no? Is there a place for them?

If not, that's cool!

OMG- I deleted somebody by mistake!! I didn't mean to- I wanted to delete the comment I made I think it was Jennifer- Please put it back up.

I wanted to tell Aislinn that all suggestions are welcome- That's how we started this thing.

Whomever I deleted- I'm sorry- we don't do that here.

Here is a link to author Dennis Meredith's blog [https://researchexplainer.com/2016/08... ] We all know that writing is not writing, it is rewriting. If it is helpful and something you are looking for, please feel free to add it to your new site.
I will follow your progress.
Many thanks for your efforts,

Thanks Wanda-

I'm so sorry Lyra- I didn't like when mods did that on other threads. I think all remarks have to be seen unless they are hurtful-BUT we are such a nice group, no one would do that here.

Please put your remark back up!!!

Hey, DIYers! Ready to learn how to layer scents using organic herbs and essential oils to transform your home into an aromatic retreat?

Instead of focusing on the history of aromatherapy, sifting through endless lists of essential oils or looking through a bunch of recipes, DYI Aromatherapy starts with that crucial step that most teachers miss: training your sense of smell so that you can create the perfect scent every time. Every chapter contains easy-to-follow training exercises designed to make you comfortable with making each type of aromatherapy product…as well as a few recipes to get you started making blends, carpet scents, drawer sachets, potpourri, simple soaps and spritz’s.

What are you waiting for? Let's get started!

https://www.amazon.com/DIY-Aromathera...

Currently both books are only available on Amazon (I'd like to fix that in 2017).

Twitter: https://twitter.com/Reiki_Mom
FB: https://www.facebook.com/MichaelaWirt...

Same genre as my first book...health, fitness, self-help

Alexis, have I told you just how awesome you are?

I see what you did there: posted your info in the wrong thread and then throw some flattery my way so I wouldn't get mad. I'm onto you, Michaela, lol. Can you copy and paste this in the "Submit" thread? Thank you!

I'm thinking I might have trouble with such a long name for the promo material.
It could definitely be used for a slogan though.
P.S. Let's move this convo to the discussion thread.

Well not really. We'll only send it once a month.
