Just finished reading the book a couple of minutes ago. I wasn't expecting much from it when I just started and at some point, I even thought it was a young-adult kind of book but the more I read, the more I liked it. It reminded me (view spoiler)[ Pet Cemetary a little bit as there's a hint that Fletcher and Tyler rose from the grave and the story partly deals with coping with the death of people we love which happened to Louis Creed in King's book (hide spoiler)].
I found it quite scary as well because if we assume that such story can really take place, (view spoiler)[ many people would really behave like those folks in Black Spring and in the face of danger and affected by fear and panic, they would do everything and 'sacrifice' a life of scapegoat they found to avoid death (hide spoiler)]
It took me about 100 pages to finally figure out what was going on, but once I hit that point I devoured the book. Unique, interesting story. I really enjoyed it!
