I've got a hankering to read a book set in the modern day but which has people with special powers in it. ESP type stuff. Can anyone suggest any really good books that fit that description?

Hi, while I am not sure if you will count this as the type of thing you are looking for, one of my favorite book series is the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz. I won't give too much away but the main character can see and talk to dead people ( ghosts/spirits ). While I am not sure this is exactly what you are after I highly recommend this series of books.
