I just finished Harmony by Carolyn Parkhurst (which is on the Community section of this year's reading list). I enjoyed how the story was told from varying viewpoints. I was amazed, and sometimes almost creeped out, by how much the mother's thoughts echoed my own in real life. I admit to disappointment, though, with the ending. It felt like a bit of a cop-out by the author. I don't know exactly how should have ended, but this didn't seem right. Maybe I wanted it to be more plausible and less sensational? I'm not sure. Still, a good read that leaves you with things to think about.

I've been wondering about this book. It looks intriguing. I appreciate the warning about the ending. As someone who writes fiction, I like to study endings... it's so hard to get them right.
