Were you surprised that Adler was able to abduct Jenna or did you see that coming? Should Black Ops have been better prepared?

Laura This is where the book really lost me. Not getting Jenna's point of view with the abduction made me feel uninvolved or detached from the whole situation. In my opinion the book would have been more exciting if we could have experienced it with Jenna.

You mean at the point she was taken?

Laura Yes, we were told she was taken but didn't really experience it so I really wasn't at the edge of my seat or anything.

I think that was a missed opportunity for the story. She would have been terrified.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments I expected Adler would grab her. I agree with Laura, the book lost me at that point.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I kind of figured that Adler would eventually abduct Jenna and history would repeat itself for Gabe.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I was disappointed that we didn't get that part of the story, too. It seemed contrived to omit it.

Quynh (quynh_o) | 134 comments BOI wasn't prepared at all. There was a guy who tried to pick Jenna up, if that was one of the BOI guys, then it would've added more to the suspense level if they were at the scene but still unable to prevent the abduction. I agree the opportunity was missed to showcase Jenna's POV.

Lauren (laurenjberman) This book rally pushed the suspension of disbelief in the covert ops department. For skilled operatives, Gabe and crew are pretty inept here.
