You are probably working on the site right now so maybe that is why it is glitching, but I tried to reply to Carol's comment on my post. It went through. When I refresh the page it shows up for a second then switches to a different view and disappears. I haven't had problems posting on the other blog articles. I will try again a little later to see if it is still happening.

Alexis | 861 comments Damn it, seems like people have bene having issues all along. I get mad thinking about all the comments I missed lol. But okay, Discus is on. You don't have to use your social media, if you type in your name, you can post as a guest.

Did you check the "I'd rather post as a guest" box?

That's what did it for me. Then it went a lil nuts and started working.

Ugh was there one? Probably not-it's my eyes and it's late evening and they're blurred. I'll have a look when I can see straight.

Article for website-is there a maximum word count? I noticed one was just under 1000. I can cut 1200 down if that's too long.

No. You can write it at any length. Sometimes I might give a little bit of feedback and ask if I can change something, but that's it.

Alexis | 861 comments Erin has had a great idea. She's not as talkative as me but she's made the website better in a lot of ways. I can't wait for her to share it with you all.

We're looking for a staff member to join our team of two.
http://navigatingindieworld.com/staff/

What you would have to do is write a monthly newsletter (Around one page in MIcrosoft Word) that highlights some of the blog articles we've posted online.

If you'd like to do this, DM me.
You won't get paid (sadly)but you'll get something better.
Yup, you guessed it, a new email: yourname@navigatingindieworld.com

Now who can resist that?

ETA: the position has been filled. :)

message 364: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Alex wrote: "I'm sure whoever takes the position will do a fantastic job, just like you and Erin are, Alexis."

Thank you, Alex!!

Groovy Lee Alexis, my article is in draft stage. I hope to finish it by tomorrow. Are you proud of me? Wait, don't answer, you might turn a face at the content, and tell me to go back to the writing board--LOL!

When I'm done, do I send it to your Goodreads' email?

message 372: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Thank you for the articles ladies! I send you a reply Amy.

If you've send me something and don't see yours online yet, it's prpbably because the topic was covered in a recently posted article. When I plan to use it, I will shoot you an e-mail/message first. :)

I just installed Google Analytics, Carole. I mistakingly assumed that wordpress.org tracks visitors like wordpress.com. But now its upp.

Alexis | 861 comments Have you noticed something?
The articles posted so far were written by THREE Children fiction writers and just ONE erotica author, my friend Anna. Yeah. I couldn't let that stand. Those children fiction authors with their cartoons and their educational material and just ugh, cuteness.

No, not on my watch.

So, the erotic romance/erotica authors have taken over NI.com today to give Anna some SUPPORT.

We bring the HEAT! Their posts will have "Adult content" stamps on the featured image just to make them feel special. (And because they can't seem to be able to write even one article without mentioning all kinds of dirty stuff.)

Don't worry if you want to skip them - although the articles ARE pretty tame.
If you wanna read em:

Be on the lookout for:
ALEXIS WILLS - My parents don't know I write erotica
and
AMY J. HAMILTON - Sex. Now that I have your attention

I'm not sure you're ready yet, Grasshopper.

But okay.
The secret is: you enter the emotion you want to express into google, e.g.: going crazy gif

Search under google images. Tons of great gifs will appear. Choose the one that speaks to your very soul.

Come back to Goodreads

Copy the code above in the comment space, paste the link where it says paste the link and then remove ALL spaces except between img and src

Erin is finalizing the Newsletter process and then I think we're good to go! :D

No. No. No Brit. That's cheating. You can do it! :D

message 387: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Maybe this will help. When you find the image on google, you should rightclick the image and copy it. Open another browser window, paste the copy. And the link that then appears in the browser line, THATS the one you need to copy.

Or, rght click on the image and select "open in new tab." Use that link. I like the rightclick, "Copy Image Location" feature in Firefox. Makes life so much simpler!

We do! But whatever you do, do not enter any coffee shops! LOL

Erica, I'm thinking 27-28-29. That also gives me enough time to contact some bloggers.

There was a lady on Goodreads that organized blog tours herself.. I want to say it was you but I'm not sure.. if not, I'll have to google to find her

That sounds good to me! Would you like me to start the process of getting information from the participants on sales for the event?

I remember and think I participated in the conversation about blog tours, but that wasn't me.

Another thing. Erin had this idea for us to give a free anthology novel to anyone who subscribes to our newsletter.

This is the tentative cover (title is complete BS for now): http://navigatingindieworld.com/antho...

We're looking for people to donate short stories. Erin already wrote one, so we'd need about four or five stories.

It can be any genre but not erotica since we want a book that can be read by everyone.

If you have a freebie (maybe Spring related) that you'd like for us to include, please DM me.

message 396: by Carole (new)

Carole P. Roman | 4665 comments Mod
Michael has two short novels out- I don't mind donating them- or do they have to be new?

I will get the hang of the gif. I will be working on it tomorrow.

What's the story of coffee shops and Amsterdam? Just sayin'

The girl on 'the other thread' I want to say was Heidi. I think it was here. She organized her own blog tours. She also had a discussion box where she described what to do- I sort of remember that, but I could be wrong.

If I don't get any new ones, I will take oldies. I'm hopeful I will get a couple of new spring-related short stories though.

Well, Amsterdam's coffee shops don't sell coffee. You will, however, be able to score a lot of weed. Lol.

HEIDI / ERICA. So close! I only missed by 3 letters. Lool

That made me snort. If I'd been in an Amsterdam coffee shop I'd be laying on the floor in a pool of my own bodily fluids.

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments Re gifs and pics-I use Google Chrome. I right click on the pic and choose Inspect, it'll highlight the bit I need. Then I press ctrl C go back to Goodreads and press ctrl V. Seems to work.

I was wondering the same thing about the coffee shops lol. Carole, that is the same thread I found. I think you are right. To give you credit Alexis, my name was on that thread so I can see where you got that.
