Hi Jim,Worldcat, a very reliable source for page counts, pretty much agrees with you (they say 647), so I have made the change, however, you mention including an introduction, so I'd like to confirm that this introduction isn't being included while paginated with roman numerals.
GR page count policy is not to include pages with roman numerals, ads, or previews.
Understood, as opposed to oversat. The page count does NOT include the Roman numeral pagination, which is entirely separate in the front of the book. After the map of Europe in Mozart's day comes the title page (unnumbered) and a page explaining abbreviations of works cited in the footnotes (also unnumbered). The first letter, that of Leopold Mozart to his buddy Lorenz Hagenaur, the Mozarts' landlord in Salzburg, Austria, begins on page 3. The last page of the General Index is page 648.Jim

The Penguin Classics paperback edition I have of Mozart: A Life in Letters by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, ISBN-10: 0-141-44146-1 or ISBN-13: 9780141441467, has 648 pages, not 448. This includes a chronology of the composer's life, an introduction, a bibliography, a list of important people, a map, a list of all 184 letters, and indicies of principal correspondents, Mozart's works both by genre and Kochel number, and a general index. Thank you.
