Taylor dodged the pillow and ran out, not feeling quite so sorry for Marissa any more.

Marissa put clothes on and walked out, not looking at Taylor.

When Marissa came out, Taylor was already dressed and holding muffins.

Daniel walked out of his room and picked a piece off of Marissa's muffin.

Daniel shrugged. He winked at Marissa and walked away.

Marissa shook her head rapidly and ran after Daniel.

A blonde girl about Taylor and Marissa's age - Hayley, Taylor guessed - entered. "Yep!" she said cheerfully. Her eyes fell on Marissa. "Mari!" Hayley exclaimed, throwing her arms around Marissa and planting a big kiss.

"Mari, I didn't know you were here!" Hayley said animatedly. Taylor stepped back from the group, a sick feeling growing in the pit of her stomach.
