"I'll get it!" Taylor called, running to the door. She opened it, peeking out to see who was there.
"Uh, hi. I'm Amanda." She said, getting her first glimpse of her new home.

Taylor stepped back from the door to make room for her dad. Jace took Taylor's place. "I'm Jace..."
"Hi. I'm Amanda Ashcroft, from the Cardiff Institute. I have a letter." She handed Jace her letter of introduction.
"I'll read this later. Come on in," Jace said.
Amanda looked around. This Institute was really big, and smelled different. The floors felt weird to walk on. Everything was new. "How many Shadowhunters live here?" Amanda asked as she walked into the entrance hall.

"There's a homocidal maniac tied up somewhere around here," Taylor supplied.
