"Yes," Marissa admitted.

Taylor smacked Marissa. "Marissa!" she scolded.

Taylor shrugged. "You don't ever listen to me. So I figured I'd try something new."

Marissa glared at her.

"Sorry," Taylor said.

"I'm going to find Daniel now," Marissa said, standing up.

Taylor moved out of Marissa's way.

Just then, Daniel came running from around the corner.

Taylor heard the sound of pounding feet and whipped around.

"Marissa," Daniel said.

"What?" Marissa asked.

Taylor hopped to her feet.

Daniel opened his mouth to explain, but a call from downstairs interrupted him.

((Can you post Jace's call?))

"Daniel! Marissa! Come down here," Jace demanded.

Daniel looked at Marissa in panic. "It's Mom."

"Now would be nice!" Jace added.

Taylor looked at Daniel in alarm. How are they going to go about telling dad about their mother? 'Oh, yes, Mister Jace, that's our mom. And while we're at it, you may want to know that she's attempted to kill Daniel here on quite a few occasions. No worries, though!'

Marissa gulped. "C'mon."

Daniel followed Marissa.

Taylor bit her lip. Should she stay or join her friends? Her mind was made up for her when she saw Ryan and Ben creeping down to watch. No way was she going to let them know more than her!

Daniel and Marissa made it downstairs. Aria was waiting for them. She grinned. "Daniel! Marissa!"

Marissa's face showed shock. "Mom? But-"

"She's here to take you two home - not the blown up one, of course," Clary explained. Taylor looked from Daniel to Marissa to their mother, wondering what would happen next.

Aria looked at the adults. "Could we have a moment alone?"

Taylor did what any teenaged girl would do in this situation. She acted rashly and in a way she'd probably regret. "Daniel and Marissa can't go. Daniel and I agreed to be parabatai. And separating siblings - that wouldn't be a great idea either," Taylor fibbed, hoping Daniel would play along. Even if they didn't agree to Marissa staying, at least Daniel would be (at least temporarily) safe from his mother.
"It's barely been a week! This is an important decision!" Jace insisted.
"Well... I've been helping him with training and hanging around him a lot recently. It hasn't been that long, but Romeo and Juliet knew each other about the same amount of time and decided they'd rather die than live without each other," Taylor pointed out. She looked to Daniel for support.

"Yeah!" Daniel said, moving to stand next to Taylor.

Jace sighed, then looked to Clary ((you be her because #laziness)).

((Call me. I have an idea.))

Aria smiled at Daniel. "I wouldn't dream of separating you two."

Taylor and Daniel exchanged nervous glances. Even Jace and Clary looked a little off-put.
"That's one more thing to sort out, I suppose," Clary smiled. "And if you'd still like to remain close, we've got TONS of space in the Institute."

Aria turned her smile to Clary and Jace. "If it doesn't cause any trouble."

Jace rolled his eyes. "Shouldn't be too much of a problem. We've already started a mini orphanage." Clary kicked him in the shin. "Of course not," she corrected.

Aria smiled. "Great!"

Marissa looked at Jace and Clary. "Could I show her where the rooms are?"

"Taylor knows the place a bit better than you, so she should probably be the one to help. You could still tag along, though," Clary said.

"Okay," Marissa said.

Aria said, "Lead on then, girls."

"Okay," Taylor said. "Follow me." She walked up the stairs like she always did - two at a time - then stopped at the top.

Marissa and Aria followed.

"This is the floor with most of the rooms. That one's mine, the one on our right is Daniel's, the left one is Ryan's. The one across from that is Ben's, and the one to the left of his is Marissa's. The one towards the end of the hall is Simon and Izzy's; the one beside it is Clary and Jace- my mom's and dad's. You've got your pick of the empty ones," Taylor smiled.

Aria nodded. "Thank you. I'll talk to you and your brother later, Marissa. So we can catch up."

Aria disappeared into an empty room.

Taylor sighed. "I hope Daniel really does want to be parabatai, or this is gonna get extremely awkward."

Marissa smiled at her. "Oh, don't worry about that."

"Even if he isn't, I have a feeling your mom's not going to let it happen..." Taylor said.

Marissa glanced at Aria's door. "We'll have to find a way to stop her."

"We're falling down, can we pick up the pieces? We're at an all time low, how do we get it back?" Taylor hummed.

Marissa sighed. "C'mon, let's find Daniel."

"My future soul mate, figuratively speaking," Taylor added.

Daniel came up the stairs. "Hello. Where is she?"

"In a room," Marissa answered.

"Que pasa, person-soon-to-be-bound-to-me?" Taylor asked.

Daniel blinked at her. "What?"

Taylor rolled her eyes. "I said 'what's happening, future parabatai?'. Honestly, do you even study your foreign language?"

"No," Marissa said quietly.

Daniel glared at her. "I understood the last part. Other than our evil mom showing up, nothing much."
