Or why he can't work on the lights/wind stuff. I don't like the Queen, I hope she gets deposed she's annoying and didn't even seem to want to know who killed her husband and son. They really also need to meet up and compare notes at this point. I feel like a lot of their distrust of what is going on would be fixed if they just laid their cards on the table and worked together like they have their whole lives. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - (view spoiler)[ I'm still confused about who is associated with the dark path vs. the light. I mean, Carys seems to have this terrible power that could break the lights and allow the darkness into their kingdom.....but she might also be able to use her power to repel the monsters. Whereas, Andreas is clearly letting people use him to do bad things and is in danger of becoming evil himself. That seems pretty dark.

I'm excited to see what happens in the next book, especially since she's riding off into the sunset with both Garret and Errik. I hope we learn more about their characters in the next book. (hide spoiler)]
