Lizzy (lizzymarie0304) So in a summer reading assignment for my school, I have to read one of the following:

-Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrad
-Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
-Isaac's Storm by Erik Larson
-Stiff by Mary Roach

Which one should I read? Help!

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Definitely Unbroken IMO

Emily | 68 comments I haven't read any of them but I would only recommend Stiff if you have a very strong stomach. I read the first chapter and had to put it down thanks to the very very vivid descriptions of corpses.

You could try Isaac's Storm, and good luck:)

Lizzy (lizzymarie0304) Okay! I'll look a bit farther into the books, and thank you for all of your help :)

Marnie (marnie19) I've read all of them but Outliers.

Unbroken - is the most depressing but a great story ( I gave it 4 stars)
Stiff- was fascinating and a much lighter story even with the subject matter
Isaac's Storm- I love Eric Larson's writing.

Because it is a summer reading assignment ( where I prefer lighter reading) my order ( of the 3 I've read)
Stiff
Isaac's Storm
Unbroken

I am running to check out Outliers now.

Cora (missteacher333) | 106 comments Actually, I think Stiff is your go-to for a funny non-fiction. I really enjoyed that one. Unbroken is the intense, brutal non-fiction read. Those are the only two in your list that I've read so, I'd say go with your mood. You wanna laugh? Stiff! You want an emotional flogging? Unbroken! Just my opinion. :-)

Lizzy (lizzymarie0304) So I've decided to read Unbroken. It seemed like the best read out of all of them. Thank you all for your help! Wish me luck on the assignment :)

Lizzy (lizzymarie0304) Hey guys! It's that time of year again: I must read a book over the summer for school! The ones they've assigned for us all look really interesting, and I've narrowed it down to three:

-Oryx and Crake
-The Age of Innocence
-The Story of Edgar Sawtelle

Which one do you think I should read??
