SOLVED. Looking for a second chance book I read a couple years ago. [s]

I've been trying to find this book for awhile and have posted in other groups without luck. Hoping someone here will recognize it. It's kind of a long shot because I don't remember much...I'm thinking the H and h live in a small town. Seems like they drive around in his truck a lot. They are young (like early 20s maybe) He gets a job offer or maybe school offer and wants her to move with him but she says no. He goes out and gets really drunk and brings another girl home from the bar. Seems like she's a trouble maker and was always trying to get with him. The h comes over early the next morning to tell him she has changed her mind and will go and catches him with the girl. She may leave town or maybe refuses to see him before he leaves. They meet again a few years later in a different city at a function/convention in a bar/club (inside a hotel I think) somewhere on a beach. I believe he is very successful now. Seems like she goes out on the beach and he comes out to talk to her. Any clue? It's been a couple years since I've read it and it seems like there was another book coming or a spin off of another character.

LilaJane, what year did you read this romance novel? I find "a couple years ago" mean different things to different people in this large group.

What are the locations and time period - U.S./country, region, a big city like New York?

Can you tell us more about the heroine and hero - their jobs, hobbies, family/friends?
