Bill It's one of those series that you can read one or two a year and when you pull the next one off the shelf, it's so comfortable diving back into Kinsey's life. She has great friends who are her family and I think she's got a wonderful little flat that Henry fixed up for her in his garage. And like some of you mentioned, just being able to wander into his kitchen to sample what he is baking sounds wonderful..

Skye | 2105 comments I always found it interesting that fearless Kinsey prefers living in tiny quarters where she feels safe.

I also love the various men Kinsey gets involved with, her 'shake out' black dress that she stuffs into her bag, and the way..."

I think it wasn't big macs she eats, but quarter pounders with cheese. Buys two at a time, if I remember rightly.

Alyscha Lauren | 5 comments I was not impressed.

Linda (lndoyle) | 26 comments I love reading about Kinsey and all her adventures. With the market flooded by so many heavy, violent, perverse mysteries, finding a series and a fun bunch of characters like Kinsey and her friends is a refreshing change of pace. Another good series that I enjoy is by Janet Evanovich, featuring bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

MissLemon | 255 comments I've just caught up with this one as I joined the group after it was a BOTM.
I was a little disappointed to be honest but,as others have said, this being the first in a series there is a lot of setting up the character etc. It also sounds like some of her friends play a bigger role in later books which sounds interesting.
I did find it very hard to believe her as female - even after she became involved with what's his name - which is doubly odd considering the author is also female. It's refreshing that she's female but not worried about her appearance all the time ( several books I could mention) or running after crims in ridiculous heels ( TV detectives please take note !). She just doesn't sound female in my head, I can't work out why.
I've certainly read worse and the 'twist' that there were two murderers was interesting , so I'm hoping for better things with 'B'. I'm willing to give it a try anyway ( thanks to comments on this tread)

Hi Carolyn, I completely agree with you so I gave the series another chance and I read B and that was the last book that I ever bothered to read in that series.
