I will check to see what needs to be done tomorrow. I will start with State of the Nation.
Just a thought- would it be a good idea to pick a specific section for each monthly read? The way we are doing it now works for me too.

Ok thanks Rose and Camille!
Rose, I think either way would work, or we could even do seven group reads a month, one from each catagory, though I think that may be a bit much. Or, alternitively we could do a poll for a section of the year and nominate group reads from just one section for a year. What do you all think?

So far we have had a good variety of books- from State of the Nation, Family and Self, and Love. If we can in a rut(always do the same categories) we could change it a bit then.
I think one book a month is enough to have a good discussion. Any more might spread the readers too thin.

There is one novel in the state of the nation that should be in the Love section- Effi Briest. For now I have placed it in the state of the nation because it is on the list, but I think it should be moved.
I found it in the State of the Nation list, so I will leave it there. That will keep things simple for all of us. I think quite a few of the books fit in different categories anyway- as long as people keep reading, I'm happy.
I agree Rose. I'll double check everything sometime mid week, I work till Wednesday. That's when I'll finish my part as well.
I find that as I am adding books, I am also adding books to my TBR list- in addition to the books already checked off.
I am about three quarters through the list-- so many good books.

Camilla, I hope he figures it out soon. My 10 and 1/2 month old granddaughter is not a good sleeper either. So don't worry about adding books, there are not very many left to do.
Enjoy your little one!

I am just compiling the list for state of nation. I saw your list, Renee, and thought it was a good idea to have them all in one place.
There is a negative side to that of course, my to- read list is growing again!

Yes! (I never think to say "You're Welcome" anymore. Why does that simple acknowledgement seem to be disappearing from our social interactions?)
But, yes, very welcome. :)

I notice that we don't have a Comedy section yet. If someone sets up the heading for it, I will be glad to start adding the books.
Comedy is there, it just has not been commented on so it disappeared on the app. on the website, click more discussions and you will see it
That sounds like a good idea-having a theme of the month, including the group read. That would help focus the books for the nominations too.
I like that idea, the whole month, including group reads, to have a theme. Why don't we start it next month and choose a theme we have not had as a group read yet?
Sounds good to me. I notice that there were two nominations for science fiction books, so maybe we could with that theme.
The books we have read so far have been in these categories:
Love- The Good Soldier, Madame Bovary
Family and Self - The Bell Jar
State of the Nation - A Passage to India
Love- The Good Soldier, Madame Bovary
Family and Self - The Bell Jar
State of the Nation - A Passage to India
We could start post a list...
January- Family & Self: The Bell Jar
February- State of the Nation: A Passage To India
March- Love: The Good Soldier
April- SciFi: ?
May-
And just pick up from there.
(I don't know when for Madame Bovary.)

OK, so we have War and Travel, Crime and Comedy that have not been group reads yet. So, I think we ought to make the order
Love, Family and Self, State of The nation, Sci Fy and Fantasy, Comedy, Crime, War and Travel and then repeat it. What do you ladies think?

I was scrolling through the comedy list and found a book by Graham Greene, Our Man in Havanna.
I was going to pick it, but the description describes a thriller , not a funny book. The other lists that is on are all spy or thriller books.
I am mentioning this now, so we don't forget about it when the suitable category comes up.
