Book was also part of Amazon Prime Reading in 4th quarter of 2016. There are at least 3 books in series. Part of the story takes place at the beach (Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket or someplace like that) and part in New York. Hero has been distant from siblings with his secret. Sister has abusive boyfriend and if I recall correctly heroine is injured during an unexpected visit from the sister's abusive boyfriend. Hero takes care of heroine after.
