What Not To Do If You Turn Invisible by Ross Welford is about a girl called Ethel who has really bad acne. She tries everything to get rid of it including a dodgy herbal remedy she buys on the Internet. After she wakes up on her 2nd hand sun bed at the start of the story she turns invisible. Fantastic story filled with mystery and humour. There is something for everyone in this book, from an invisible girl and her family secrets to unexpected friendships and secret missions.

Ross Welford's first book, Time Travelling With a Hamster is also great. It's being used as a Year 7/8 read aloud at the moment and the kids are loving it.
