We're so used to trusting Harry's instincts. Did it give you pause in the beginning of the story when it appeared that his #1 suspect wasn't Marie Gesto's abductor/murderer?

Nope. I knew from the start that Harry had the right suspect all along and that Waits didn't kill Marie.

It was simply the details of the conspiracy that were unknown to me.

Same here. I knew he had the right guy. I just had to figure out how Raynard Wait played into the murder.

I must admit I wavered! Probably because he did. However, it didn't take long for me to become suspect of Waits being the new guy.

[Lauren]

One of the reasons I ruled Waits out as Marie's killer was the different MO. She was high profile while his other victims (except the pawn broker) were all prostitutes no one would miss.

In retrospect, he would never have targeted her because he was basically killing his mother over and over.
