The story itself had potential, the suspense kept me reading, but the actions of Courtney ruined my full enjoyment of the book. Too many TSTL moments for me. I'm surprised to feel so picky about this book, maybe because I had high hopes and expectations as the reviews seemed to favor this one over the first book. I'm still looking forward to the Tracers series even though this one didn't meet my expectations.
I actually liked the book a lot, and Courtney was part of the reason. She turned out differently than I'd expected and knowing her heart made a big difference. The suspense aspect, though, was what made the story for me. It was well done.
I really loved everything about this. The fact that Courtney did live means she wasn't TSTL. lol. She had to keep herself alive on her own, no car not much money etc. The only protection she got was Will giving her rides basically. I thought she was very brave. It had spooky moments where she thought she heard noises etc. and I liked the chemistry between the two. I like books where the hero gets to sweep in save the day, it pushed all the right buttons for me.
Her big TSTL moment was calling her sister after she'd disappeared. It's the one thing Alex told her not to do. Also, I still thought it a wrong move not to tell the truth to people who cared about her.
Otherwise, I thought she was pretty resourceful and used her wits to save herself, especially that opening scene.

The call was to let Fiona know she wouldn't be at her wedding. Not wise but understandable. I would have done the same.
I enjoyed this one much more than the first. Courtney's character development and her romance with Will were excellent. Her trust issues went a long way toward explaining her actions for me and calling her sister is a very human and understandable mistake. She's not a machine and it was very difficult for her to be cut off from Fiona.
Will is also one of my favorite hero types - a gentle giant of few words :0)
