I would like to do that, but I do not have a scanner, so the only thing I can offer is to take a picture of the cover.

That would be great. If you use a smartphone, there are several apps that make taking cover pictures easy. I use Office Lens (used Cam Scanner in the past, was also good), or for shiny covers I use PhotoScan.
