Oooh, I've heard so much about this book that it has made me interested in reading it. I'm definitely in for the challenge, however, I've got quite a few books lined up already for the first half of the year, so probably won't even consider starting it until after summer.

Start it whenever you have time! I'll probably still be reading then! Haha. Glad to have an extra buddy or two ;-)

What classifies a book as a chunkster?
I'd be interested in reading this, but I have some other hefty books lined up that I want to get through. Perhaps I'll pick this up during the last several months of the year :-P

I don't know the classical definition of a "chunkster" but I betcha StarMan has a creative answer for that! ;-)

 I like Brainstorm's definition (a bullet stopper!)
I like Brainstorm's definition (a bullet stopper!)Chunkster: a book so large and with such a high page count that it makes you look extra-nerdy, while also being so heavy and awkward to hold that you'll walk in circles if you try to carry it one on side of your body. Doubles as a doorstop. Used as a murder weapon in 53 documented cases since 1905. Unlike normal books, can actually cause blindness if read using insufficient lighting -- just like your mother warned you. Survivalist tip: In case of apocalypse and the resulting shortage of electricity/gas, burning a chunkster can warm a small cabin for approximately 4.2 hours.
Readers desiring to carry around a chunkster should wear steel-toed boots, and should first warm up by lifting hardcopies of The Stand, Anna Karenina, War and Peace, a truly unabridged dictionary, or a cinder block. Only then should they consider carrying around a bullet-stopping and possibly hernia-causing chunkster.
