Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments Nooooo should be rude words. I have no class!

As you say Alex I can’t be bothered to put any more time into Radish, but as least I tried. Naturally the free erotica is being read and the free chapters of the sci-fi but not the paid for chapters.

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments I’ve got a whole $3.03 sitting there waiting for it to reach $20 so I can request a pay out. (Thank you, Carole)

message 2504: by Amy (new)

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments I know. Thankfully Medium doesn’t do that. Over the last three months I’ve been paid $40 so I’m on the way to earning my annual membership back.

Alexis | 861 comments Facebook is ending its brief experiment to show more posts from friends and family members in newsfeeds.

In January, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the social media service would show less posts from businesses and publishers while ramping up personal contacts. The stated goal was to encourage more interaction among friends and family.

The unstated goal was to lessen reliance on organic (i.e. unpaid) traffic for businesses and publishers that use the service as a tool to drive traffic. The longer game was audience retention and growth, which would drive revenue.

But in a company blog post from Adam Mosseri, head of news feed, Facebook now says it is ending its “test” of the Explore Feed.

I am just under £10 away from earning back my annual Medium membership. I paid around £38 three months ago. It’s not mega bucks but it’s something.

That's better than an unprofessional agent. Which is what I ended up with a decade and a half ago...

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 1236 comments 42 reviews and 4.9 stars - oh boy, Carole! That is some feat. I'm going to leave this as a mystery to others as to which book of yours I'm referring to.

message 2535: by Dale (new)

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 1814 comments It probably counts as something good when a short story idea occurs to me these days. I used to write a lot of them, but not so much any more. Anyway, I got the idea on the way to work this morning, and now it's on Medium: A Perfect Crime. Please enjoy and share!

Brit Lunden hasn't been promoted much yet, Alex. I've neglected her. Brit is doing a website for her as we speak. She's getting some attention now. I don't even know which book Anna's looking at- there are over fifty of them - lol.

I plan on promoting everybody who sent in for the Spring promotion on the three blogs I manage- please let us know if you have any movement in sales. The first mailchimp- the kids one is going out today- I will have a number on how many emails it reached later.

She will have it forever.

message 2541: by Amy (new)

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments I don't think anyone in my family does anything like that. When our son was at nursery school they arranged for them to put their hand prints on tea towels. I bought a couple for grandparents. My in-laws loved theirs and kept it. My Dad gave it back saying they didn't keep things like that. Needless to say I was quite hurt by that.

Your Dad's loss. I had to cut a piece of a door when I sold my house. It had Eric's handprints and I never washed them off! lol

message 2543: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Needed this article today. Maybe someone else does too.

Excerpt:
The older we get, the more culturally invisible we become, as writers, as people. But you have your words. Writing and publishing are two very different things. Other writers are not your measure. Try not to worry about what other people your age or younger have already accomplished because it will only make you sick with envy or grief. The only thing you can control is how you write and how hard you work. The literary flavor of the week did not get your book deal. All the other writers in the world are not having more fun than you, no matter what it might seem like on social media, where everyone is showing you only what they want you to see.

Write as well as you can, with as much heart as you can, whenever you can. Make sure there are people in your life who will have faith in your promise when you can’t. Get your writing in the world, ideally for the money you deserve because writing is work that deserves compensation. But do not worry about being closer to 50 or 65 or 83. Artistic success, in all its forms, is not merely the purview of the young. You are not a late bloomer. You are already blooming.
