Clapped... or rather, tapped. Tee hee. Hugs
Clapped Alex. I would have been a deer caught in the headlights

Clapped loudly. Hugs

And for my "something good", I just did my first weekend of book signings, a trip I planned in a city 8 hours from where I live. I did three signings on this very snowy weekend, and they all went well. Someone asked me on the first day, "How do you get set up in a place like this?" (I was in Chapters, the Canadian equivalent of Barnes & Noble.) I laughed and said, "That was the easiest part of the process. I called the store and said, 'I have a book, can I do a signing?' and they said 'Yes!'"
Wherever you're at, friend, keep going with your writing. And don't be afraid to ask for opportunities to share it. (Though no one here seems to be shy about that, lol.)
Lastly, I was featured on a friend's blog today (author Melissa Keaster), sharing my journey of recovery from child loss after losing my son 2.5 years ago, which is intimately connected to writing my most recent novel. If you are looking for a little more encouragement and inspiration, please go check it out:

Much love to you all!

Thank you. Kathy and I are doing good at our end. It's still a little up and down, but the downs aren't anywhere near as bad as they were a few weeks ago. Congratulations on your signings!
We are in a holding pattern- I want him moved to a university hopsital- the doctors want him in rehab. I'm eating a can a spinach and rolling up my sleeves.

And thank you all for the warm wishes. I'll be doing a LOT of signings over the next two months, all of which require travel, so I hope I can keep my energy and enthusiasm up for it. :-) But I may only be watching this thread from my inbox for most of it, so you may or may not hear much from me.
:-)

Also got some new books from my family in Minnesota, and I am such a happy camper.
So yeah, yay! h

That's alright, Anna! The like is very much appreciated.

Voted! Good luck, Chrys!

Hi Talena, Just catching up on my reading and I just read your whole post. Sincerest sympathies on your loss. I am so sorry.

I'll try to get to it later. That site is blocked here at the office...
The Reading is Fun Page Hop has finally kicked off! We would love for you to come join us and show your support for indie children's authors. :) There are gift cards and children's books up for grabs all along the hop. https://www.facebook.com/events/25149...

Oh, good! I'm so happy that worked out after all. Best of luck!

Thank you, Carole. Very kind of you to say, and to take the time to read the post. Frankly, I'm amazed at all you manage to do and still be so prolific as a writer. :-) Hugs.
Hi guys!
I wanted to share a letter I got from my friend Gary.:
Hello Carole,
I am blessed to say that thanks to generous authors and publishers, Kids Need to Read has been able to donate over 3000 books thru 13 Grow Your Library events in 8 states over the last 3 years. That said, there are still many communities that need our help. For 2018, my wife, Tina, and I are preparing to deliver book grants to six US libraries in communities with over 70% poverty. This year we will be traveling to New Mexico, Arizona, Mississippi and Alabama. With your help, each carefully selected library will receive a Grow Your Library grant of up to 300 new books. We will be holding the 14th GYL event March 22nd in Anthony, NM. A community close to the Mexican border with a 100% poverty level. Their 300 books are pictured along with Tina and I.
My request is again simple. Would you donate six sets of books? Or even six books? An assortment of titles? Whatever you feel you can contribute to the Grow Your Library program would be appreciated. Please send your donation to the attention of GYL - Gary, at the address below. Some authors send donations directly from Amazon in order to save shipping costs.
Here is an excerpt from a March 15, 2016 letter sent to KNTR by City Librarian Vikki Cervantes of Porterville, CA:
Dear Gary and Tina Mlodzik, On behalf of the Porterville City Library we cannot thank you and the Kids Need to Read “Grow Your Library” project for choosing our community library as your first stop of 2016! We are beyond blessed by your organization’s generosity and commitment to sharing the love of reading with our children. We truly appreciate your time and your team’s dedication in assisting with the selection and shipping of print materials. However, I must say that it was truly delightful to meet both of you in person and see your passion shine for public libraries as an institution and the support we provide to our community through early literacy programs.
My sincere hope is that you support the Grow Your Library team in making a difference in the lives of kids. Donate books, give KNTR a shout out on your social media or even send me a note, text or a call to say: “Hey, well done!!” I can’t begin to express how meaningful those kind words of enthusiastic support encourage us in this endeavor.

Gratefully yours,

I've been away from Goodreads as I have been focusing on learning all about book marketing and book covers and all things that I need to... :) (And I really don't have a clue what I'm supposed to DO here on Goodreads... )
But just thought I let you know that my book is going to be published in 7.2.2018. Next Wednesday that is! :) :) How awesome is that!
I'm so proud of myself for finishing the book and putting myself out there and daring. Phew.
If you want to check it out the link to Amazon is here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0786S2THZ/...
Though I haven't been in here for a while, this group helped me when I took my first steps with this book so THANK YOU. :)
