Since I'm late to the party (having been dealing with personal things and needed hibernation for a couple weeks) I finally pulled up the new Indie Authors Monthly magazine on the laptop and spent the next hour or so grinning at myself and reading it cover to cover. I'm thrilled to have been included, and congrats to everyone that took part, and worked so hard, to make it fantastic! You guys are incredible! I've already shared across social media platforms. :)

RL is amazing. She put that whole thing together. It is a beautiful thing.

I just did Goddess Fish for my son and The Children's Book Review for me and the results were encouraging.

At the moment I'm happy writing. I have such a lot to put out, when I've done that and I'm happy with some output I'll sit back and work on some promo. Right now I feel like a one non-hit wonder.
In other good news I ran my first book through Grammarly last night (didn't know it existed when I first published) and I republished all three versions (ugh). I think I saw something that grammarly didn't pick up after I'd published, but anything missed now falls under the heading of "quirk" until someone else makes an issue of it. I have done my best with what I have and can afford.
Publisher's Weekly contacted us today and said they would take an ad on our Blog Radio Show Navigating Indieworld. I'd say that was a vote of confidence!!

The Children's Book Review has listed Oh Susannah as thier Best Selling Middle Grade book!!

I just ordered a hundred copies of my latest book from both Ingram and Createspace- identical orders- Createspace was 100 dollars more. I cancelled the Createspace order.

So I have a question for all of you paperback people... (maybe not the right forum??) Do you feel like it's worth it to do them? I have 2 of my books available in paperback and have only sold a few copies of each. Not sure if it's worth it.

Yay! Congratulations!
My son's book The Battle for Darracia is free today- We used something- I don't remember which- Free Booksy or ENT not sure- well it hit number one in it's genre. This is is least successful book in sales and reviews, but not in content. (imo)

Very nice! Congratulations.

As for paperbacks...I don't sell any, really, but I find them useful for giveaways and other things. I might eventually do a book signing. Not sure. I didn't bother getting a paperback of my third book, so that should tell you something. :p

From a person with hardly any sales in either format I'm beginning to wonder if anything is worth it. I've done a paperback, more for my own satisfaction than anything else, I am currently the only person who owns a copy.

Hang in there Amy, as Alex said, you'll find your audience. My limited one doesn't seem to buy paperbacks so I don't know if it's worth the $ investment to have them made.
My something good, I am closing in on 100 likes on my Facebook page. I know that is nothing compared to many of you, but it is still an exciting milestone. :)

AND double whammy, not only did I remember that I wrote a passage on my phone for book two, I found it online. It disappeared from my phone as far as I can tell, but I found it on a forum I'd uploaded to year ago.
It'll be the prologue which means my second book will no longer start with the words,
"Is anyone else itchy?"
Oh well.

Hurray! I made more on paperbacks than I did on ebook sales this month, but that's not saying much...
I love when a paperback sells- for me it's when I hear angels singing. Paperbacks sit at the end of your bed and demand to be read. They weigh heavy in a purse when you go some where and when a reader takes it out- it sells itself. If I see someone absorbed in a book, I may ask about it. The cover sells the book too and if they give it away- it is like a gift that keeps giving. I miss paperbacks.

I stuffed a request for beta readers somewhere in the help section if anyone is interested.

That is amazing. Congrats!!
It is finally done! After two long months, I have an official website!!! Thank you to everyone in this group who has helped me with questions along the way. A special thank you to Alexis for your inspiring article (http://navigatingindieworld.com/alexi...). Thank you also to Erin and Jon for the great tips and instructions to help make my website stronger. I hope it is okay that I am going to post the link. Not trying to sell anything here, I am just showing off pictures of my new baby...I mean website. :)
