PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments This is the 6th book in the Cheese Shop Mystery series by Avery Aames aka Daryl Wood Gerber.
Providence, Ohio, is celebrating Valentine’s Day with weeklong events, including lovers’ baskets with heart-shaped cheeses at Fromagerie Bessette. Charlotte Bessette is celebrating by finally walking down the aisle with the man of her dreams, handsome artisanal cheese farmer, Jordan Pace. But when a beloved bar owner is discovered murdered on Jordan’s farm, he believes they should reschedule their wedding given the grim turn of events.

Charlotte is heartsick over the postponement. This killer crossed the wrong woman. No one, but no one, is ruining her wedding plans!

Having just read the 2nd Cheese Shop Mystery this past week, I eagerly jumped into this one (even though I have skipped a few!) so I'm somewhat more familiar with the characters than I was. I read the 1st book a while ago so I'm glad that I'm a bit more in the game.

In case you haven't read some of the previous books, here is a brief list of characters since a lot of them are thrown at you right at the beginning, like one of the last books we read!!

Charlotte Bessette-Proprietor of Fromagerie Bessette aka "The Cheese Shop" in Providence, Ohio
Jordan Pace-artisanal cheese farmer and fiance of Charlotte
Delilah-One of Charlotte's best friends, runs the Country Kitchen Diner
Meredith-Charlotte's other best friend, an elementary school teacher, and married to Charlotte's cousin
Matthew-Charlotte's Cousin, married to Meredith, father to twins Clair and Amy.
Sylvie-Matthew's ex wife, mother to Clair and Amy
Rebecca-one of Charlotte's assistants at the Cheese Shop
Tyanne-part time assistant at Cheese Shop and wedding planner
Devon O'Shea-Deputy and nephew of Tim
Tim O'Shea- Bar owner, uncle of Devon
Jacky-Jordan's sister
Freckles-Friend of Charlotte, owner of Sew Inspired quilt shop
Grandmere-Charlotte's grandmother and mayor
Umberto Urso-Chief of Police

There are many others too! I'm only on chapter 4 and I think I've read about 10 more characters!!

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments So, it seems like both Charlotte and Jordan want to postpone the wedding in light of the murder occurring on Jordan's farm. Would you postpone the wedding or would you just change the venue and say, "the show must go on"?

message 7: by J (new)

J Maybe just a quiet ceremony now followed by a big reception after the murder was solved.

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments That's a good idea. Doesn't seem like anyone's in the partying mood right now!

I will post the 2nd discussion thread tomorrow or Saturday once I get a few more chapters read.

Just started and into first few pages. Has a nice flow or feel to it. A hook doesn't necessarily have to have a body on first page in order to pull reader in. Fine writing, a backdrop one can feel a part of, fetching characters etc. will do it for me. Moving along the story to see how she fits. Good choice so far.
