"I was wondering if we could do a 'Female Author Challenge' (but with a wittier title). So many of the books published and written have male authors, so I think this would be a good way to push people outside of their comfort zones and give female authors the recognition it deserves."
What we, the moderators, noticed is that many of us have the exact opposite problem from Tia, we read mostly books written by female authors. So we decided to make this a Ying Yang type of challenge.
So, with that said, look at your book shelves and determine which you read more of--books written by male authors or books written by female authors--and try to set yourself a goal to read more of the ones you are significantly lacking in.
--> Books with page counts of over 100 pages
--> Re-Reads do not count for this challenge
--> Any readable format counts (paper, digital, audio)
--> Picture books not allowed, MG allowed if YA is also listed
--> No Graphic Novels / Manga allowed
