David Raz (davidraz) | 13055 comments Can any librarian help me understand the changelog for The Street of Crocodiles? Is it a Polish edition? If so, why was it changed to an English name? Then to Slovak?

Mimi (heymimi) | 91 comments According to amazon, that ASIN is associated with a polish version of the book.

The description is in English because it uses the default description.

The language changes were made by bots (operating under Chandler Otis's account).

This version of the book is now no longer available, and I failed to retrieve any more info.

Maybe another skilled detective librarian can turn up more...

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments It looks like auto import scripts did the changes, they have improved over the years but back in 2012 they quite often changed data and librarians when the changes are found sort them out.

Also data from Amazon was deleted from all books which will not have helped

Arenda | 26447 comments Those changes were during the Amazon data removal back in 2012 (where GR couldn't use data from Amazon, and data that came from Amazon was removed).
See also this recent thread where someone asked the same: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Those changes can/should be reverted.

(I've seen more examples of titles that were changed to a different language in the same 2012 period, even for editions that are still available on Amazon under the title that was original on Goodreads.)
