Andrew Mowere (AndrewMowere) | 7 comments I wonder of that helps any, and how it worked out with you. I currently do not, despite having some sales and downloads on my free works. To date, I'd say that one out of each one hundred downloads has lead to a review, at most.

What is your experience with putting review links at the end of your work?

Helen Henderson Originally I included a list of other work in my ebooks. Each title was linked to a page that had reviews, the blurb, and excerpts. In the last round of updates, the manuscripts were rejected by almost every ebook store until all links were removed including my website and all author pages including Goodreads.

That said, I do have either a text or graphic asking for a review. If it's helped? I can't say.

Madness Jones | 15 comments This is more my experience as a reader than a writer, but I remember reading an author's note in the back of an ebook I bought that just came out and said how difficult it is to get reviews and how much they would appreciate it if their readers left reviews to help their book's audience grow. I know this author sounded unprofessional by saying it that way, but it did indeed make me review the book because I wanted to feel like I was helping an indie author make his mark. I can't really say this approach has worked for me, but then again I'm pretty lousy at advertising my work in the first place. Hope this helps ^_^'

Libre Paley | 14 comments I imagine the person putting the link in the back would simply be glad to get a review, even if they had to sound a little desperate to gain it.
I do put a link and request in, brief and polite, no special pleading. Who knows what works. I similarly have had very few reviews per many downloads. If the downloads are freebies, who knows if they even get read.
