Madeline sat down cautiously.

Roblin took a bite of his food. "So, what should we work on tonight?" He asked.
Roblin nodded. "What can we try this time?"
"Something that doesn't blow up." Madeline suggested sarcastically. "Seriously though. I can't afford anything to be covered in sparkly ashes that smell almost as bad as unicorn poop."
"Trial and error, right?" Madeline said sheepishly.
"So, what are we gonna do?" Madeline asked, sighing.
"You're adding it this time," Roblin said.
Roblin rolled a pencil through his fingers distractingly. "Any ideas?"
"I'm not sure." Madeline sighed.
Madeline placed her head in her hands, raking her hands through her hair. "Wel, you're smarter than me." She pointed out.
"Not true. But you're the star expert," Roblin countered.
"You're the alchemy expert." Madeline argued.
"What's the frown for?" Madeline noticed.
"You're right. Per usual," Roblin smirked.
Roblin poked at his lunch. "Let's worry about that later."
"Kay." Madeline pulled three jars of mallowmelt out of her backpack. "Want one, Rob?"
Madeline handed him a jar. "Eat up!"
"Better than school food any day," Roblin opened the jar.
"Duh." Madeline grinned, opening up a jar.
Madeline sighed wistfully as she took a large mouthful. "I wove mawwowwmewt!" She shouted, mouth full of mallowmelt.
Roblin grinned, then froze. He set the jar aside and grabbed a pen, fingers still coated with mallowmelt. He started scribbling on a napkin.
"What are you scribbling?" Madeline asked.
"Idea," Roblin said quickly, not looking up.
Roblin groaned when the pen nib ripped through the thin napkin.
"Here." Madeline handed him her notebook.
Roblin smiled gratefully and started copying the surviving sentences and diagrams from the napkin into the book, adding new notes.
"Done yet? Or do I have to get a new notebook?" Madeline grinned.
Roblin mumbled something, turning the page.
"You'll have to speak my language." Madeline replied.
"You're the polygot," Roblin smirked, finally looking up.
"Doesn't mean I can speak Roberish. That means Roblin and gibberish, by the way." Madeline pointed out.
Roblin shrugged. "Well, I haven't got the details worked out yet, but..." He passed the notebook back to her.
"Oh gosh, that's complicated." Madeline read around, constantly turning the notebook around as she was having trouble reading different angles and orientations.
((I have no clue what the idea can be :P ))"You think it'll work?" Roblin asked nervously, rolling the pen through his fingers.
((Oh gosh))"I'd prefer if you wrote this neatly." Madeline pointed out, having a hard time reading Roblin's handwriting.
"I needed to get it down," Roblin said sheepishly. "Sorry if it's a bit cramped."
"Please rewrite this, it's impossible to read." Madeline pointed out, handing him the notebook.
Roblin smirked. "My normal handwriting isn't much better, to be honest."
"At least it's legible." Madeline pointed out.
"Barely," Roblin snorted. "But okay," He slide the notebook back towards him, turning to a fresh page.
