David Raz (davidraz) | 13055 comments I understand we don't remove covers unless they are inarguably wrong. This 1971 Rocketship Galileo cover is in my opinion inarguably wrong as the cover includes an ISBN line saying "0450049795" which did not even exist until 1980. In fact, it is the cover of this 1980 edition: Rocketship Galileo. The image files are identical and the change log shows both covers were uploaded by the same librarian around the same hour (May 03, 2011 3 PM). The correct cover can be found here for example.

Is this indeed inarguably wrong and does policy allow it to be corrected?

This is indeed the wrong cover.

This situation, where the ISBN is visible on the cover and contradicts the record's ISBN can allow us to make the edit to correct it. I was hoping for further confirmation from Steve, however, before proceeding.

David Raz (davidraz) | 13055 comments As far as I understand, Steve can't answer as he has the 1973 edition at hand. I am suggesting we change the cover for the 1971 edition based on AbeBooks version, and then refrain from adding the 1973 edition if it has the exact same cover as the 1971 one.

Ok, that sounds fine. Remember to comment the change with the exact reason for removal (I.e. Visible ISBN contradicting record ISBN). :)
