Library
Tevi smiled and shrugged slightly."I think most kids at this school have family issues, it better to have someone to listen to them than to keep it all bottled up." The librarian looked up and fixed him with a glare. Tevi ducked his head slightly and continued in a lower voice.
"Trust me, I know from experience." Fidgeting with his watch he tilted his head slightly.
"Are you here for sports then?"
Tevi shook his head slightly and smiled. Humor had always been his way around problems, and for the most part it worked very well. "Nothing as bad as yours probably." He shrugged.
"Umm... my mom left when I was two, my dad refuses to talk about her." Tevi paused, thinking about his last phone call with his dad.
"Or, well, never talks about her unless it's to threaten me. There's some other stuff too... it's not terrible, he just wants me to be something that i'm not." As usual Tevi left out the abusive part of his relationship with his dad. He figured people didn't really want to hear all his problems, and he didn't want their pity, to it worked both ways.
Tevi listened with an impassive face. When Matt finished, he frowned silently. He was never quite sure how to reply to stuff like that, since saying sorry or something always felt so fake. "You make my life sound like kitties and rainbows." He said truthfully after a moment. He knew that Matt was probably leaving stuff out, like he had, but that was fine.
"Well, if you need someone to take your anger out on, I can handle it."
Tevi shrugged slightly."I have a natural talent for being a human punching bag." He smiled, although the reason for that was not at all a funny reason. As Matt turned to leave Tevi decided to ask one more question.
"How old is he?" Tevi asked, thinking about his sister.
"Your brother I mean."
Tevi checked out his books and pushed some of the ones he was returning into the return slot. "He must mean a lot to you." He said softly, unconsciously using his fingernail to trace his tattoo that he had gotten for his sister. Taking his stack of book he carefully put them into his bag, trying his best to fit them all in without damaging any of them.
Tevi glanced down surprised, he hadn't realized what he had been doing. Usually it took a while for people to notice the tattoo since it was on the inside of his arm. "Thanks. I got it the week before I left to come here." He turned his wrist so Matt could see the words properly. The tattoo said 'Forever by your side.'
"It's for my little sister."
Tevi nodded his head at Matt's first question."Yes, she's alive." Tevi felt weird having to say that, for him he mainly took it for granted that his family was alive. He smiled softly, bringing up an image of his little sister in his mind.
"Her name's Olivia." He bit his lip, regarding Matt with a slight smile.
"It's amazing what you would do for a sibling isn't it."
Tevi grinned."I guess we are, although your childhood sounds a lot more traumatic than mine does." He swung his bag up onto his shoulder and ran a hand through his hair.
"You want to go practice some basketball or something?" He asked.

August watched carefully, his mouth gaping open a little bit as he stood quietly. He was still nervous about the situation, twisting his fingers as he watched. He didn't want to be kicked off of the soccer team. Being kicked off would be the end of his life. Snapping out of his daze, August followed Madeline quietly.
*(so so so sorry that this took forever! hopefully we can keep this going!)
((It's alright. I want to keep this roleplay going too.))
Madeline stopped in front of the math books section. She looked through the books until she found the books on the subject that August was looking for.
"Here," she said as she held them out to him.

August stopped right behind Madeline, biting his lip softly. Looking at the books that he was holding out for her, he bit down on his lip a little bit more, putting his hands out as his eyes were still glued onto the covers. "Thanks." He replied with a smile. "I'm really sorry, about how I was acting."
"It's alright," Madeline replied.
August smiled as he sat down. "So, you work here? Is it nice here? Do you like it in the library? I know that it stays really quiet in here all of the time. Do you like it quiet?" August asked, rambling on.
"I like the library," Madeline replied, "it's nice here."
"It is hard to believe that I've only been in this library a couple of times, maybe like three or four?" August shrugged as he rubbed the spine of the books carefully. "I just never thought that I needed help."
Madeline listened to August. She didn't know what to say. She was never the one to be social.
Nalanie smacked the cover of her book, "Stupid thing! Why did you have to kill my favorite character?"She paused as she was shushed by the librarian, and whisper-screamed "Sorry!" before patting her book and continuing to read.
Madeline walked into the library. It was easily her favorite place in the whole entire school. She loved how quite and peaceful it was. Suddenly she heard someone yelling. She looked around and saw a girl who looked frustrated. The librarian shushed her and Madeline watched as the girl sat back down and the library became peaceful again.
Nalanie glanced up as she heard someone else walk into the room. She was pretty. And interesting. She kept watching to see what the girl would do next, her expression curious.
Madeline turned around to face the librarian.
"Madeline, I know your not on shelving today but the person whose supposed to be here got sick. Could you possibly shelve those books on the shelving cart?"
"Sure," Madeline replied. She had some spare time and the library was the perfect place to be during spare time.

At that, Nalanie, hopped up and trotted over. "Do you need more help, Ms. [insert librarian name here]? I'm here and available." She gave her a big smile.Upon the affirmative reply, Nalanie spun around to smile at the girl. "I'm a library book shelfer too," she told her. "I usually do it on Tuesdays after school."
"Sure," the librarian replied, "you both can shelve the books."
"Oh..." Madeline replied when the girl told her when she normally shelved books.

Madeline walked over to the shelving cart and took a book off of it. It was one of her favorites and she already knew exactly where it belonged without even really looking at it.
"J.K. Rowling," she said to herself. "M-R, young adult." She smiled at Madeline. "I love Harry Potter. What do you have?"
"I have Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine," Madeline replied.
"I love that one too!" Nalanie exclaimed. She trotted over to the shelf, muttering "J.K. Rowling, J.K. Rowling" under her breath and peering at the spines of the books.
Madeline smiled before walking over to the shelf where the book she was holding belonged. She put it in it's proper spot before walking back to the shelving cart.
"I didn't really have anything planned," Madeline replied as she picked up another book off of the shelving cart.
"Me neither," Nalanie admitted. "Well, except for reading my book." She offered a grin and continued to shelve the books."Hey! Maybe we could do something!" Nalanie burst out suddenly, the thought just occurring to you. "I mean, if you want to, of course."
Madeline smiled while saying, "Sure."
"Great!" Nalanie exclaimed. "I have a little money because I babysat yesterday. I babysit for people within walking distance of BLA. Anyway, I could pay for some ice cream or something if you want to go to town. I can't drive and I don't have a car, of course, but we could walk or take a bus."
"Sure," Madeline replied, "that's sounds like fun."
She hadn't been for ice cream in a while so she was looking forward to it. She looked at the shelving cart and saw that their were still quite a few books left and it would probably take a bit more time before they were done shelving them.

"Great!" Nalanie exclaimed. She glanced at the cart as well and grabbed an armload of books. "I'll shelf more than you," she added with a wink.
Madeline smiled as picked up another book off of the shelving cart. With Nalanie shelving so many books at once it wouldn't take as long as Madeline originally thought it would.
Nalanie trotted around the library, not quite running, but not quite walking either. She mumbled the names of books and authors under her breath, concentrating on finding the right spots.((Shall we switch to Icy Delights?))
(( Sure. Can you post first?))
Marcus found a good place to sit, somewhat tucked away into a corner of the library. He just realized Celaena could have trouble spotting him, but the text he sent her would have to do. He had his things already out of his bag and ready to start.
Celaena walked into the library, looking for Marcus. After a few minuites, she spotted him in a back corner. “Hey” She said, sitting down and taking out her stuff.
"Hey." He greeted her with a short nod. "Sorry if I was a little hidden." Ge shrugged with a slight smirk, "I like corners."
“Me too” she grinned “so, what can I help with?” She asked kindly, smiling at him.
"Well..." Marcus stared out the window and bit his lip as he thought. "I can read just fine, obviously, but look," he pointed to a sentence in his copy of The Scarlet Letter and read aloud, "'She was lady-like, too, after the manner of the feminine gentility of those days; characterized by a certain state and dignity, rather than by the delicate, evanescent, and indescribable grace, which is now recognized as its indication.'" I don't understand this." He threw up his hands in defeat, and a couple people gave him dirty looks for making too much noise. "It's like I understand each word on its own, but in these sentences they don't make sense to me. It's too complicated." He felt his cheeks redden slightly because he didn't like to admit that he was still having trouble understanding English. Basic English conversation was fine--he could do that all day if he wanted to-- but understanding books took more effort. He had considered finding a Romanian version of the book, if it existed, but it wouldn't be very beneficial to him in the long run.
“Hmmm I see. Well, older English is even complicated for people who fully understand the language, so I can’t understand how hard it must be for you.” She thought for a moment “If you break up the sentence into smaller parts, like just a few words, would you understand it?” She asked, curiously.

"Look, I don't want to push it if you don't want to talk about it. But if you ever do. I've got your back okay? We're a team." Tevi smiled at Matt gently.
