Taeyun reflected Jonas’s smile and tried not to slide his hand down the boy’s back, instead pulling it quickly away. His mind was being weird today.

He loved corner tables. They were so secluded and private, but also so nice and just wonderful. Especially when they were next to a fogged window. He nodded and followed Jonas over to the table. When he sat down, he looked out through the closest window. Where did Charlie go when he wasn’t needed? What did he do with his life?

Jonas sat down in the seat across from him, leaning his head against the window it sat next to. He was tired after a long school day but he was happy to be out with Taeyun. It had been a while since he had gone out with friends. With Tae though it was even nicer because he didn't feel the need to impress him for some reason. Well that wasn't completely true, he wanted to impress him by being kind and funny and cheerful but he still felt like he could be himself with him. Just a normal kid.
"So, Taeyun. Tell me something interesting about yourself. I guess I don't really know you." He said softly, watching the other boy through wide, dark eyes. It struck him that he didn't really know anything about him, even though he had just taken his grandmother to a doctor's appointment as well as kissed him.

{haha sorry I’m reading a gay book right now and it’s apparently influencing my writing}

Tae looked away from the window, his eyes a bit wide. “About … me?” He made a worried face and thought about it for a while, putting his chin in his hand. There was really nothing worth saying, other than his tumultuous past … but that wasn’t neccessary to talk about right now.
Maybe he could talk about Bada? It had been a while since he’d last seen her. It was the only thing he had in mind, though. “I used to have a dog, Bada,” he said, proud of his English for once.

message 54: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas smiled softly again. Maybe Tae was one of those people who hated talking about himself.
"Used to?" He asked gently. Most people didn't like talking about pets that had died. Even if it wasn't as traumatic as a family member dying, people still had close relationships with their pets. Jonas knew for a fact that if his horse Dancer died he would certainly grieve. He had trained and fallen and learned on that horse and he loved her. Dogs were probably even worse because they were well known for being man's best friend. He didn't want to bring up a dead dog, but he also wanted to confirm if the dog was in fact still alive.
"I've always wanted a dog." He added, scrunching up his nose a little bit. His mother had never let him have a dog. He was slightly allergic and their fur made his eyes puff up. Not good for media.

Taeyun’s smile fell slightly. He wasn’t sure if Bada was even still alive. He’d never thought about it. Tae had always assumed she was happy and alive, but what if she wasn’t? He knew his dad wasn’t an angel; he’d probably abused her in her last days. It made Tae unbearably sad to realize. He’d grown up with her.
He blinked and looked out the window again, diverting his focus for a second. “Dogs are nice,” he said instead of answering Jonas’s earlier question. “Good.”

message 56: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments By the look on his face, it was easy for Jonas to assume the rest. Well, now he knew at least one thing about Taeyun. He had a dead dog, probably something that shouldn't come up in conversation again.
"Yeah they are. I like german shepards. You know, the big gold and black ones." He replied, rolling with the sentence. He wanted to know about Taeyun, who he was, what he liked, but he didn't seem to want to talk too much about himself. Looking down at the menu, Jonas shifted slightly in his seat. He was usually good at thinking up conversation topics but today he was blanking. So he just concentrated hard on the menu.

Tae nodded enthusiastically. “I like … are they … Pyrenees? Great Pyrenees?” He said, a bit unsurely. “They’re fluffy,” he added, smiling once again.

He followed Jonas’s lead and picked up his menu, hiding the bottom half of his face with it. Everything looked and sounded so good … he was too hungry, he supposed.

{sORRY short}

message 58: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas chuckled and shrugged. He didn't really know that much about dog breeds. Now at least he knew that Taeyun liked cute things, fluffy things. That could be good to know later on. A waiter came around to their table and looked expectantly at them. Jonas had been here a few times so he knew what he wanted to eat (not to mention one of the only dishes he could eat)
"Uh, i'll have the broccoli beef." He murmured before looking to Taeyun to see if he knew what he wanted to order. Panda Express food always ended up giving Jonas an allergic reaction but Taeyun had wanted to go and some of the food was okay for him health wise so Jonas could suffer through it. Rifling through his bag he took a large swig of water and forced down about 5 pills. He was going to need them.

Tae looked down at the menu to avoid looking up at the waitress’s face. He, quite frankly, disliked interacting freely with people. It was a weird thing, but it was there. “Um … fried rice, please?” He said, making sure to incorporate Noona’s drilled in manners.

Taeyun noticed Jonas getting out some of the pills he’d seen earlier, and a brief worried expression crossed his face. “Okay? He asked, once the waitress was gone.

Max | 1137 comments Jonas nodded, mouth still filled with water. With a final swallow he coughed slightly and shrugged.
"Yeah, it's sort of routine for me." He was used to constant medicine since it had been a part of his life for so long. He had been able to dry swallow pills by the age of eight and had never thought twice about it. The perk of being crazy wealthy meant that he could get meals tailored to his needs. Back home he had had his own personal chef.
"You sure you don't want anything else?" He asked at Taeyun's sparse order.
"I'm paying remember. Go all out!" He exclaimed with hopeful eyes. Jonas's emotions were always animated but his eyes always betrayed the most of his feelings.

Tae put his hands in his lap self-consciously. He wasn’t very hungry, but takeout was always an option. “Kung Pao chicken, then, please,” he added to his initial order.
He leaned forwards slightly to peer out the window again. He wasn’t sure what he was looking for, but it was something. Maybe rain. Maybe it was the beauty of the scene. It wasn’t sunny, or bright, but there was a certain wonderful despondency of the clouds. Grey skies were always so pretty.

Max | 1137 comments Taeyun's order sort of put off a lightbulb in Jonas's head and he quickly gestured to the waitress before she left.
"Actually, can I have an order of that too. But in a takeout box? Thanks." He smiled brightly at her, his signature sunshine smile before turning back to Tae.
"Charlie loves the food here." He explained. More often than not he ended up getting something for Charlie if he was at a restaurant. Noticing Taeyun's wayward gaze out the window he followed his eyes to the grey skies above.
"You like the clouds? They're pretty." He said softly. He felt like there was so much going on in Taeyun's head that he would never understand.

{awesome, thanks

aWe ‘you like the clouds?’}

Taeyun smiled when Jonas mentioned getting food for Charlie. Jonas was really quite considerate and thoughtful.
He watched the sky for a while more, noting all of the small peculiarities in the clouds. It was like, a floating ocean up there.
He was a bit stunned out of his rainy-day daze when Jonas addressed him. “Yeah,” he said softly, nodding. “It’s, like, floating water,” he added, in a wondering tone.

{time sorry}

message 70: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas liked rainy days. They were calm, but honestly he was mor into sunny days. He was a bit like a sunflower. He needed light to be awake. The cloudy days made him want to just curl up and be alone forever. Sun made him feel social. But he liked that Tae thought about things like that. Things like the colour of the sky which other people couldn't seem to care less about. It made him seem thoughtful.
"You should be a poet." He told Taeyun, tilting his head slightly to the side. He wasn't joking.

message 71: by hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (new)

hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (190511)

“Poet?” Tae said absentmindedly, still staring at the panels of glass. A few raindrops had appeared on its surface. It added to the cozy atmosphere of Panda Express, even though they were the only customers.
He’d never really considered his future past high school. He figured he’d just go with the tide and join a dance company or something, nothing too ambitious. It wasn’t like he was going to college or anything.
He averted his gaze from the incoming storm to Jonas’s eyes. The brown was so nice … so deep, like he could just sink into them. Hot chocolate and warm brownies and brown blankets all in one.

message 72: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas's eyes crinkled up at the sides and he shrugged sheepishly.
"You know, like write poetry and stuff. You have a way with words." The waitress passed by, bringing with her their dishes.
"Chicken, broccoli chicken and fried rice." She listed off with a smile before heading back into the kitchen. She didn't have much other business as there wasn't anyone else around which must be nice. Jonas never thought about things like how little waiters got payed when there were no customers to tip them. He never had to worry about those things. Everything in his life was decided through pleasure or for popularity. He didn't really need anything else. Most people wanted to go into medicine because they needed the money, Jonas wanted to go into it so he could prove something. He didn't have to worry about dropping out or things like that because he was a trust fund kid.
"Or maybe a singer? Can you sing? Cause a cute guy like you would be super popular with the teenagers." He added with another smile. Good looks could go a long way in the entertainment industry.

message 73: by hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (new)

hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (190511)

Taeyun smiled slightly, just a corner of his lips lifting. It was amusing to think he had a way with words when he only knew half of english. "Thank you," he said, despite his thoughts.
He immediately parroted his words when the waitress came back and reached for his food. It was his second-favorite thing in the world, the first being his mother. He missed her, too.
When Jonas mentioned singing, his cheeks turned pink and he focused on his food. "Kind of," he mumbled. "I dance." He did have a good vocal line, but recently he'd been focusing more on his dancing than his voice. He wasn't likely to get anywhere special with his moderate singing, but his dancing was something exceptional.

message 74: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments "Yay! I got a smile!" Jonas felt the familiar rush of warmth that he always got when someone smiled. Usually it wasn't so amazing to get someone to smile but Taeyun didn't seem to do it that much so it felt even more satisfying. There was nothing like that feeling, the feeling of making someone laugh or smile. It felt like getting high without drugs, drunk on happiness.
"Dance?" He repeated, almost sounding like he was asking a question. Jonas could do stunts, he knew some martial arts, but he could not dance. It had been a problem in his career.
"Wow, that's amazing. What kind of dance? Ballet, hip-hop? Modern?" He asked in quick succession, his curiosity getting the better of him.

message 75: by hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (new)

hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (190511)

Taeyun only responded to this with a wider smile, trying to hide it behind his hand.
"Yeah, dance," he said, raising an eyebrow slightly. What was confusing about that?
Oh, what kind of dance. Of course. Tae had started with ballet in middle school, just for a baseline. Four years ago, he'd added in hip hop and modern. So now he had all three skills, and whenever he did any of them he could use techniques from the others, and it made his dancing all the much better. He loved hip hop though.
"All three?" He responded, the ending like a question. He didn't want to be judged poorly by Jonas. He took another big bite of chicken and chewed slowly.

Max | 1137 comments ((Once upon a dance my friend and I tried dance... it did not go well))

Jonas leaned back in his chair, his dark eyes dancing with pure wonder as he looked at Taeyun. He looked completely normal (well actually, he looked extremely good looking... but in a normal type of way). He was so quiet that he didn't fit the mold of an art kid in Jonas's mind. Most artsy kids he knew were loud and obnoxious and liked to prance around and show off their craft. He should know, he sort of was one. With Taeyun's closed in personality, it had never crossed his mind that he might be an art kid. As a result he was even more pleasantly surprised by the boy's response.
"Gosh, that's amazing. Maybe you could show me some time?" He asked eagerly. He hadn't touched his food yet and finally realized and set himself to chowing down on his broccoli beef.
"I mean, I can hardly do a box step, and you can do... well everything!"

{hahA I’ve tried but I fell on my butt so this is all speculation}

Tae finished his fried rice, rather quickly. It had been a few days since he’d had a proper meal that didn’t include cliff bars.
He nodded. “I practice every day,” he said, a bit proud of himself. “At 5 and 12.” He usually practiced before everyone was awake and when everyone was at lunch, so he’d be alone. No embarrassment then, if he was coming up with a particularly inventive piece of choreography. Or if he messed up.
He moved on to his nearly last bite of his chicken when it occurred to him to ask Jonas about his own life. He’d been so one-sided today.
“What do you do?” He asked.

message 78: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas watched as Taeyun quickly finished his rice and chicken, glade that he had suggested for him to order something else. Jonas could be a little bit of a parent when it came to watching over his friends, he always made sure they ate well and that they got enough sleep. He knew how important those things were.
"Five? In the morning?" Jonas grinned with disbelief. He didn't get up until the last possible moment. Even if that meant missing breakfast and sprinting to class. He was a teenager, he needed all the sleep he could get.
"Maybe i'll come visit at lunch?" He asked. If Tae didn't want an audience than Jonas wouldn't push it, but he knew that all artists had to get their art out there somehow. It was scary, but you couldn't be successful if you didn't. Hard things were scary to do.
"I'm not nearly as interesting. I'm at BLA for medicine. I want to go medical school to become a surgeon. But I act on the side." Most people thought that only really smart people could become surgeons but Jonas wasn't exactly a genius and he was doing okay.

message 79: by hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (new)

hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (190511)

“Five,” he confirmed, nodding. He tilted his head slightly at Jonas’s cute smile.
It wasn’t a problem to wake up early for him, even if he went to sleep late. It had been drilled into him as a young kid, when he was regularly awoken at ungodly hours in the morning due to yelling and fighting and crashing and any other horrible sounds that six-year-old ears shouldn’t have heard.
Tae nodded. “Tomorrow would be good,” he offered. He’d been practicing a particularly interesting — and hard — piece of choreo, and he’d just managed to perfect it this morning. If it was any other situation, he wouldn’t have let Jonas see.
Tae raised his eyebrows. “Medicine?” He couldn’t imagine being smart enough to save people’s lives. Sure, he was good at math and not failing at science, but that wasn’t smart.
Plus, medicine was expensive. Jonas would be super-super rich. And then Jonas said act, and a lightbulb turned on in Tae’s mind. “Ohhhh. Famous,” he said with a slight smile.

message 80: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas shook his head in wonder and then gave Taeyun an excited look. he was surprised at how quickly the boy had agreed to let him see his dance. Most people were much more closed off about their art forms. Maybe underneath his shy exterior, Tae had a backbone of steel. It took a lot of courage to do what he was doing, showing his art, his heart and soul. That really was what art is, a person's heart and soul.
"I'll be there!" He exclaimed happily. It was nice to know that they had already made plans for the future. This wasn't going to be the only time he ever saw him. He never really hung out with anyone at lunch, rather liking to spend his time on his own. But he wouldn't mind giving that up to spend some time with Taeyun.
"Yeah, I dunno, I want to help people." That wasn't the only reason Jonas wanted to become a surgeon, there were other ones. But those reasons didn't sound as noble.
"Being famous is not my preferred profession." He said, his smile falling a little bit. He loved to act, he truly did. He just didn't like everything else that came with it.
"Anyways, acting is no where near as hard as dance. I don't think i'll ever be able to compare to you. I mean, you're smart. You're nice. You dance and just when it couldn't get any worse, you're also crazy hot." Jonas mumbled in mock despair.

message 81: by hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (last edited Sep 16, 2018 12:28AM) (new)

hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (190511)

Now, normally, Taeyun wouldn’t have been so blatant with his invitation. But he’d been practicing on this for weeks now, and he was actually pretty proud of himself. Plus, it wasn’t his choreo. It was meant to be preformed with six other people, though, so it looked a bit strange on his own. He’d tweaked it a bit, so it was more of his own, but he still gave credit to the creators.
Tae gave another smile, quite possibly a gummy smile, at Jonas’s reasons behind being a surgeon. Of course wanted to help people; he was a walking ray of kind sunshine.
His smile fell in response to Jonas’s own face. “You don’t like famous? Why not?”

Tae blushed, his gummy smile showing again, and looked down at the table. He was finished with his food, and he had nothing to do with his hands, so he brought one up and propped his elbow on the table, resting his chin on top of it. He knew it was rude, but he was tired, and he knew Jonas would know he wasn’t intentionally being rude. “I’m not smart,” he mumbled quietly, half-hoping that the other boy wouldn’t hear. He had failed his writing class last year and had to do it over, which sucked. If anything, he was too focused on his dance to be smart. It was wonderful to know he was ‘hot’, though. That was a first. He did suppose he had a semblance of abs, but it wasn’t like he’d checked lately or anything. Maybe dancing 24/7 made him muscular or something. But he was so short, he’d never been called anything but cute. He puzzled over this for a few moments, a slightly flustered look crossing his face.

Jonas picked around his broccoli, picking out the beef and chewing thoughtfully. He was one of those people who ate things one by one. Like he ate sandwiches by taking it apart first and eating it layer by layer. Shrugging gently he bit the inside of his cheek. He didn't know how to explain why he didn't like being famous.
"Being well-known... I mean i'm not even famous for a good reason. It's stupid, I was born famous. I didn't even have to do anything. " He hated that. He hated that simply because his mother was who she was, he had been born a famous baby. His entire life had been centered around popularity and it was annoying sometimes. In fact it was the reason he was at BLA.
"Do you ever want to just run away? Well when you're in the media, it's impossible." His voice was gentle, as though he were discovering those ideas for himself for the first time. That reminded him that he had to blog today, which he was sure his mom would text him about if he didn't do that soon. Anyway, he had to go meet his new roommate. His old one had left within the first week of school. Not that Jonas had minded, he had really needed the time alone. His eyes lowered to catch Taeyun's beautiful ones as he looked down.
"Hey, even if you're not good at school. You're smart." He assured the other boy. He knew that often thanks to stupid tests many smart kids ended up thinking they were dumb.

{coool}

Tae’s mouth made an ‘o’ in understanding. His mom, or dad, must have been famous, and when they had a baby he was instantly famous too. That made a lot of sense. Jonas had never experienced being normal. It was kind of a scary idea that you were always going to be judged on what you did. You couldn’t really ever be yourself, he supposed. Poor Jonas.
Even as small as a moment it was, Taeyun appreciated the slight eye contact. Eyes were the window to the soul, most people said, but for Taeyun, they were just assuring. You couldn’t see through them or into them or even past them, and that was the beauty. They had the whole of your attention while you tried to see something in them that you couldn’t.

He shrugged and put his fork down. He realized he’d still been holding it, as if it was a lifeline. He didn’t believe he was smart, honestly. But he knew he wasn’t stupid.
Noona, he remembered, just as the rain picked up. He could hear the steady splatter of drops on the roof.

message 85: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Being famous wasn't all horribly. Jonas knew that. There were probably more perks than downfalls honestly. He was wealthy beyond imagination, he never had to do a thing on his own. He was popular and he knew it, there was plenty good about being famous the way he was. But for someone who was as introverted as him sometimes it felt like a curse. He just wanted to run away sometimes. He liked it here though, with Taeyun. Alone in a warm restaurant with the rain streaking down the windowpane. He felt so comfortable, so warm. Like he was wrapped up in a blanket with hot cocoa by a fireplace.
"Being smart isn't everything anyway." He added. He knew that better than anyone. Plus even if you didn't do well in high school didn't mean that you couldn't do well anywhere else. He finally finished his meal and coughed slightly. The soy probably wasn't reacting well with him.
"Should we get going then? Or do you want to stick around a bit longer?" He asked, watching as fat raindrops rolled down the windows, tracing patterns along the slick glass.

message 86: by hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (new)

hua ‧₊˚.⟢ (190511)

Tae supposed he was right, that being smart wasn’t everything. That’s what his dad had said, though, and look how he turned out.
He winced a little at Jonas’s cough. He remembered the allergy medicine, and wondered of the two were connected, and immediately felt bad. He’d asked Jonas to come with him to a place he was allergic to. An apologetic expression crossed his face momentarily.
“Get going,” he said, but remained sitting.
Tae turned his head slightly to watch outside, and jumped slightly, his heart racing, when a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky. He waited a few seconds, bracing himself for the thunder, but it never worked. It always scared him. The boom was close after the lightning, and loud. Cracking. Echoing.
The thing was, it sounded just like a gunshot.
He clenched his hands together in his lap and tried to look normal, like it wasn’t bothering him. Even though every time the sky broke he dug his nails further into his palms.

message 87: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments ((He's afraid of thunder???? Aw....poor Taeyun))

His throat was itchy but he refrained from coughing again as he could already tell that Tae was the type of person who would blame himself for something he had no control over. Taeyun couldn't control Jonas's allergies, therefore he shouldn't feel bad about them at all. Jonas had learned to live with them and if he had a reaction that was much more his fault than Taeyun's. After all, he knew his own limitations of health much better than some boy he had just met ever could. If things got really bad it would be his fault for not saying no. But an itchy throat was pretty normal so he wasn't too worried. Calling the waitress over, Jonas quickly payed for the food before glancing up at the lighting in the window. It would be hard not to notice the way Tae jumped at the loud sound and Jonas gave him a concerned look. He knew that some people were afraid of thunder, but that was usually kids. Not that he was judging Taeyun or anything, it was just interesting. Getting up he moved to the other side of the table and gently put a hand on his arm, unraveling one of his tightly clenched fists.
"Hey, it's just thunder." He murmured softly.
"I'll protect you." He added with a playful tone, but his eyes were serious. He said he would, and that meant he would. He could already see the half crescents on the boy's palms from where his nails had cut in and he didn't want him hurting himself by mistake.

{ptsd ahhh}

Tae looked up at Jonas a bit surprisedly. He wasn’t expecting … that. Nonetheless, and probably unconsciously, his hand wrapped tightly around Jonas’s as he stood up.
He knew it was a completely unreasonable fear, but he remembered everything, no matter how much he tried to forget it. And maybe thunder didn’t sound like a gunshot at all. That’s just what his mind had made it. And now he couldn’t go back. He knew it was probably ptsd, or some kind of disorder, but he didn’t want to know there was something else wrong with him. So he’d never been to see someone about it, and didn’t ever intend to.
He nodded tensely, but still clung to Jonas’s arm as they left the restaurant. He glanced up at the other boy’s face as it was illuminated by lightning, and couldn’t help but be reassured at the steady expression there.

Max | 1137 comments Jonas liked feeling Taeyun's hand in his. He liked knowing that somehow he was strong enough inside to be the protector. He got that feeling that most people got when others relied on them. Neither of them had jackets thanks to the relatively nice weather before but Charlie was already on his way to pick them up so they wouldn't have to walk in the rain. Unfortunately he had to park across the street so they would have to do a little bit of walking. The second they stepped out into the rain, Jonas got soaked. His hair stuck to his forehead and his clothing flattened against his skin. This was not just rain, it was a downpour. The streets were already flooding with water and cars carefully made their way through the streets. Lighting flashes across the sky in arcs and the sound of thunder rolled through the air. He tightened his grip on Taeyun and sloshed over to the street light. He usually jay walked but it was too dangerous in the dark and rain. The thunder was deafening, even by Jonas's standard, and he wasn't afraid of it.

It was easy for Taeyun to ignore the fact that his good clothes, the jeans he’d spent months earning up for, were getting soaked. The thunder held all of his attention, no matter how much he tried to block it out. If he listened really hard, it sounded like throwing a chair against a wall. That didn’t help.
He didn’t know where they were going, but he could see the crosswalk and slowly his brain pieced together that they had to cross the street. It seemed like only the bottom half of his body was working, his legs moving in sync with Jonas’s, while his face was frozen in fear.
He couldn’t remember anything but that morning, and he couldn’t remove it from his thoughts.

Max | 1137 comments Another crash of thunder sounded and Jonas waited impatiently for the streetlight to turn, shifting his weight from one foot to the other with his pent up nervous energy. He wasn't nervous for himself, he was nervous for Taeyun who looked absolutely terrified. He had never met anyone who was this afraid of thunder. Like most kids, Jonas had been afraid of it a little when he was younger but that was before he realized that thunder couldn't do anything to hurt you. Looking over at Tae's frozen expression he couldn't help but wonder if there was something more to this irrational fear.
"My mom. She used to tell me stories when it rained." He said over the sound of rain, looking over to make sure the other boy was listening. He was hoping that he could distract him with the story and draw his attention away from his fear.
"There are giants living in the sky. Four of them, North, South, East and West. They're all siblings." The light turned red so they could walk across the street. He continued ad they walked.
"And sometimes they get into fights. And the Giants of the North and West are really big cry-babies so they always start crying when they fight. That's why it rains. But East and South are really angry and they stomp across the sky and yell at each other. That's why there's thunder and lighting." They had reached the other side of the street and Charlie pulled up right in front of them.

Tae took a shaky breath and focused all of his attention on Jonas’s voice. It was working, kind of. He could still hear the thunder, and see the lightning, and his body was still shaking slightly. But it all seemed farther away. He made up pictures in his mind to go with the story, and that distracted him. But also, just the other boy’s voice. The first time, the time his mom died, he was all alone in his room, hiding under the covers in the dark. But now, someone was talking to him. It wasn’t the same.
Different. Different, different.
He slid into the car behind Jonas and immediately felt bad for getting all of the nice seats wet. He felt bad just sitting in this car, when he couldn’t even afford to repair his own.
He was still shaking.

Max | 1137 comments Charlie looked back at the two boys and chuckled. They both looked totally mangled, like wet dogs. Jonas shifted uncomfortably in his seat, hating the feeling of sitting down in wet clothing. Buckling up he noticed that Tae was still shaking, although much less than before. Reaching over he laced their fingers together gently, lips curling up slightly in a gentle smile. The car moved slowly through the rain and Jonas found himself zoning out. It had been a long day and he was tired. He still had to upload a blog video before he went to bed, along with meet his new roommate. Plus he had a lot of homework. His eyes blinked in tired protest at just the thought of all the work he still had to do. Finally blinking back into reality he looked over at Taeyun and tilted his head to the side.
"You okay?" He asked softly so that Charlie didn't hear them. Their driver was happily engrossed in the driving though along with munching absentmindedly on a piece of chicken from the dish Jonas had ordered him.

Taeyun buckled his seat belt. He was making everything so dirty. Usually he wouldn’t be so self-conscious about everything, but today had made him reconsider. He couldn’t even act normally during a lightning storm, so what did that make him? A burden, just an extra thing to have to deal with. It proved how useless he was.
Nonetheless, his fingers curled tightly around Jonas’s.
A random thought popped in his head. He’d forgotten about his new room. Three days ago, his roommate had finally gotten to the edge of Taeyun’s patience, so he’d asked to be moved. Today was the day he’d finally cleared his clothes and junk out of the room and moved into his new one, but he hadn’t met his new roommate yet. He didn’t really want to. Especially not while he was in this sorry state.
He looked over at Jonas absentmindedly, his head angled carelessly. Just staring. Jonas really wasn’t bad looking at all. Hot, actually. Tae closed his eyes halfway and chided himself immediately for thinking that.
“What? Okay?” He asked as his eyes flew open. “Yeah. Okay.” He nodded, a slight blush coloring his cheeks.
He’d been distracted, he realized. From the storm. That was a first.

Max | 1137 comments "Good." Jonas replied. He didn't have anything else to say. So he just smiled and nodded his head. Sometimes you didn't have to say anything at all for people to understand what you meant. That one word represented his relief and tired happiness. It showed that he was glad that Taeyun was okay and that this night had been amazing. It wasn't like their conversations had been deep or inspiring or even that interesting. But that was okay because words don't say everything. Jonas enjoyed just being in Tae's presence. He was one of those people you immediately liked just by being with them. Finally the car reached the doors to the school and Charlie unlocked the doors.
"Alright, out you get." He said cheerfully. He was looking forward to getting out of the car and getting home.
"Thanks Charlie!" Jonas exclaimed as he stepped out of the car. It was still raining like mad and he had to make a dash for the door, dragging Taeyun along with him. Finally in the safety of the school he ran a hand through his wet hair.
"Well that was fun!" He commented almost sheepishly.
"Thanks for coming to dinner with me..."

Tae yelped as he was pulled into the rain and didn’t have a chance to say thank you to Charlie. When they were finally inside, Tae’s hair was pasted to his face and his clothes were sticking everywhere. “Thank you,” He said, trying to put as much meaning into the word as he could. He meant thank you for everything. Nonetheless, though, Taeyun smiled, a gentle smile. His eyes tracked the movement of Jonas’s hand and he swallowed with what he was about to ask. Then and looked down at his old shoes shyly. “Um … can you walk me to my room?” He asked, in perfect English. He was a bit too scared of Jonas’s answer to notice, though. The thunder was still there, and though it was mostly fading, his hands started shaking minutely again with the mere thought of it.

Max | 1137 comments Jonas didn't want to go. He wanted to just stay and talk with Taeyun all night. Or maybe even not talk at all, just enjoy his calming presence. He was about to say that he should get going when Tae asked him to walk to his dorm with him. Jonas let out a touched smile and nodded quickly. He liked knowing that Taeyun didn't want this night to end either. A walk to his dorm would give just that much more time for them to be together.
"Of course." He murmured softly, looking down at Taeyun's hands for a moment. They were shaking again and Jonas gently took on his Tae's hands in his and gave him an earnest look.
"Whats the room number?" He asked, looking down again so he could trace gentle patterns on the back of Tae's hand.
