Fates & Furies- maybe already been there/done that?

I read the first chapter of Fates & Furies, felt like I was going to be reading another Gone Girl or Girl on the Train, and returned it to the library. It just felt too similar to the genre that I have already read recently. So.... I. Am skipping this one and picking up Master & Margarits!
