Can you remember anything about any of the characters? Was it published/did you read it in the 90s or was that just when it was set?

It was set on the upper east side. There was a main character and many of the friends lived in the same apartment building. The main character took in a young guy gay who becomes a main character. I'm trying to remember his nickname....little pee wee (no). I fee like the first word of his nickname is "Little"
