You can often find ISBNs of other editions inside the paperback, but we still would not take the cover from one of them for another.

That's true. I was wondering if there might be an exception specifically for the Kindle and ebook, as some times they are the same edition just sold from Amazon, but, on second thought, I could definitely envision the Kindle edition changing while the rest do not, so, yeah, no dice.
