Combining

Although I've read the Goodreads instructions, I'm still a little unclear on what will happen if I 'combine' two editions of the same work. At present, my USA edition is the one that shows up on my book list but I'd like it to be the UK edition (is there a way to change?)

If I combine the two editions am I right in thinking that they will they still have separate listings? And does it then mean that any ratings from one will also be allocated to the other? I don't want to mess up either of the publishers' listings.
