I had every intention of joining in ...... but I've been really ill with a chest infection. Hope you guys enjoy the book.

message 52: by Perri (new)

Perri | -43 comments Sorry you've been ill, Janet. Hope you're on the mend!

message 53: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments It must be going around in all parts of the world, Janet...I got hit with flu and bronchitis just yesterday. Tried to go to work anyway today and left. Just made some neo citron. I hope you get feeling better soon. Chest infections are awful.

message 54: by Perri (new)

Perri | -43 comments How many plan to go on with the series? I'm just lukewarm on the idea.

message 55: by Tyler (new)

Tyler I'm going to, just not right away. Maybe in a month or two.

message 56: by Amanda (new)

Amanda McGill | 6 comments I'm going to continue with the series. I read the first book of her Grant County series (Blindsighted) and really loved it. I liked it more than Triptych.

A heads-up for those who want to continue with the series, there is overlap between the Will Trent series and the Grant County series, so it's best to read them in a certain order.

That being said, I'm excited to see how the 2 series come together.

message 57: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments I didn't know they intertwined! I think I am going to continue with the series, I didn't realize there were 8 until this morning so why not?

message 58: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments Do you know when they begin to overlap, Amanda? I've read the first two of GC series and I have to agree that I did like Blindsighted more than I am enjoying this series entry. However, I think that's just because of the tough prison stuff in this one. I'm enjoying the weaved story though. I'm only at 50% through but am quite into it now.

message 59: by Amanda (new)

Amanda McGill | 6 comments The Grant County series (6 novels) can be read as a standalone series.

Triptych and Fractured (Will Trent #1 and #2) can be read alongside the Grant County (no overlap).

Undone (Will Trent #3) is where the overlap begins, and the full Grant County series should be read before Undone.

message 60: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments Sweet! Thanks for that info...I'll pick up the third GC soon! I didn't like Kisscut as much as Blindsighted, but it was still good.

message 61: by Ann (new)

Ann Girdharry (anngirdharry) | 313 comments Dana said, 'I can't stand the character "Angie" in this one ...'

It's strange, but I think Angie is a character who really grew on me through this series.

She doesn't change, she's always 'on the edge'. She's always bad for Will but later on in the series, we find out why they got married and much more about how they got to be close....

message 62: by Mandy (new)

Mandy (penn_y_lane) | 547 comments Finished yesterday and I really enjoyed this one, quite different to Blindsighted which I loved and I plan to continue with the series as I have a few of them on my tbr shelf. I also enjoyed John's story though it was hard and frustrating.

How's everyone else getting on?

message 63: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments That's what I'm hoping will happen for me too Ann! She was just a bit much for me this one for the most part. I think I also just enjoyed johns storyline more than will

message 64: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Thanks for the info Amanda! I think I'll give it a try, but it will take a while with 14 novels lol

message 65: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments I forgot to write in here that I finished a few days ago and really liked it. Some of it was hard to take but it was a good story. Like a really bad episode of SVU. I'll definitely go on with the series, Perri. I would like to continue on with the Grant County series first though like Amanda said and am on number three next. However, she did say part two of Will Trent can be read without overlap between them. Have you all read some of the Grant County series? I know some of you mentioned Blindsighted.

the overlap sounds cool. Like Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer:)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments How is everyone feeling for part two of this one...it's been about six months...I figured some stomach turning Slaughter was okay again lol

message 68: by Tyler (new)

Tyler lol
Sure, I'm up for it. Bought the second book after finishing the first, just never got around to it yet. I'm in. Hopefully there's no "prison scenes" like in the first one 0_o

message 69: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Maybe we could set up a series read, one a month, or whatever works. We could even include the Grant County books and read them in the order that they intertwine. Just a thought :)

message 70: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments Yes! Dana and I were just talking about this...I have to stop reading this series after this entry until I finish Grant County. I'm on entry three in that one and Dana wants to start it...have you started Grant County yet?

And yesssss, exactly how I felt about the prison scenes. I doubt there will be that in this one but if we know Slaughter it's always something that stays with you long after...she sure knows how to leave us wit a scene or two. Lol

message 71: by Perri (new)

Perri | -43 comments I'll request it from my library today

message 72: by Tyler (new)

Tyler No, I haven't read any of Grant County. Not even sure what order they should go in. Time to do some google research :)

message 73: by Tyler (new)

Tyler Ok, I'm getting nowhere in finding the order in which to read them in. Anyone know? Is the Grant County series first and then the Will Trent books or do they weave in and out of each other?

message 74: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments Amanda, who read Triptych with us, mentioned you should read the full Grant County series before you get to part three in the Will Trent series. There's no overlap for Triptych and Fractured.

Grant County starts with Blindsighted (Loved it), and then Kisscut. I'm at number three A Faint Cold Fear, but may wait now to read it if the whole group starts a group read of all of them.

message 75: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments I requested it from library too, Perri, but it was out at my branch and on Overdrive. I just joined Overdrive to see if I could get it. Does anyone use this site? I'm wondering if it's only a two day loan for all books?! Seems strange to me.

Two websites that will help:

http://www.orderofbooks.com

https://www.fictfact.com

message 77: by Perri (new)

Perri | -43 comments Amy, Overdrive... so interesting, thank you. I looked up Washington Anytime on Overdrive and found the one copy checked out with three people waiting for the copy. I wonder if that's typical for popular books. I'll have to do some more exploring with it!

message 78: by Amy (new)

Amy (thenikitagirl) | 636 comments I got my copy from the library yesterday. Thought I'd get some pages in at lunch but didn't....well the first page doesn't count lol

Anyone else get yo start yet? Should we make a page in PIFM for Fractured if anyone would like to join since there were quotas a few for Triptych...

Do you gave to read the Grant County series before the Will Trent series? Do they intermingle? I've only read Kisscut as yet.

message 80: by Perri (new)

Perri | -43 comments I don't have my copy yet, but it shouldn't me much longer. A new folders a good idea. Janet read with us! I've heard you don't even have to have read Triptych.
