C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4214 comments You have until the 7th of February to post a poem and from the 8th to the 12th of February, we’ll vote for which one we thought was best!

Please post directly into the topic and not a link. Please don’t use a poem previously used in this group. Only one submission per person is allowed.

Your poem can be of any length!

This week’s topic is: Of Mice And Men

(Thank you goes to Edward T. for suggesting the topic!)

The rules are pretty loose. You could write a poem about anything that has to do with the subject/photo but it must relate to the topic somehow.

Most of all have fun!

Poet : Edward Davies

The best laid schemes of mice and men
Gang aft agley, it’s said
That is if you believe the words
Of Burns, who’s long since dead

He told his tale to try to give
Regrets of such a class
To a poor mouse who lost his house
That sat amongst the grass

He tried to make the real attempt
At explaining his deeds
He didn’t know the mouse was there
Tucked up amongst the weeds

So mousey tried to build its home
On land it thought quite sound
But things predictably go wrong
When man gets on the ground

By: CJ

Three Worn Mice
Were tired because of man's vice

When the clocks struck one
The drinkers weren't done

Their plans in the kitchen were no dice.
