Paula I chose to read the book I Am Malala. I chose to read this book because of the highlighted statement on the front cover "How one girl stood up for education and changed the world." This statement drew me in. I also chose this book because after reading the synopsis it sounded like a book I would be interested in. The story of a young girl burdened by terrorism, who stood up for what she believed in and sought change even if it meant putting her own life in danger. I would recommend this book to a mature audience starting in the fifth grade. I also think this would be a good book to read together as a class. This book has some advanced vocabulary and the history aspect of the story may be hard for some readers to understand. It has little pictures and is a short book coming in at 230 pages which include about 50 pages of information other than the story itself. I did like that this book offered a glossary to help with the understanding of the Urdu (the national language of Pakistan) used within the book. I would give other books by this author a try. I say try because of the type of book this is, because it is a non-fiction story based off of someone's life. I would recommend this book to others. I have actually already told multiple people about the "good book" I have been reading.  I thought it was a great inspirational story. I enjoyed it and found it hard to put down. I was unable to tie my book back to our text. However, I tied it back to education in general. This book is centered around the idea of education and how one girl stood up for it.
